Hi guys
I have just bought this 2007 F6 which has had some major work done to it,producing around 400kw+ at the wheels.
The other day I gave it a bit and now it idles like a V8 and blows smoke through the oil filler cap, something is definitely wrong, still runs but not like normal.
I just want to know if anyone has had this and what would I be looking at in repair cost?
Cheers

Sounds like you fried the piston rings or blew the welds off the intake

Thanks bud
Does that mean a total engine rebuilt and what sort of cost will I be looking at?

The oil pressure has not gone down though

Nah serious it was probably pinging/detonating and you couldn't hear it. The crankcase is pressurised because the combustion from one or more cylinders is now getting past the rings (or a hole/crack in one of the pistons).
The motor is finished. Rebuild or get another one.

Do a compression and leak down test
Could have lifted the head too.

It could have been worse, at least it didn't let go in a huge way.
Apparently assembled F6 bottom ends are sub-3k from ford if you just wanted to swap bottom ends.
I'd very very strongly suggest getting the tune checked after you put the new motor in.

Thats true the heads are more expensive than a short.
