well...there goes my 2nd car :(

Postby eb-baby » March 14th, 2008, 10:54 am

some very unhappy news from my end....

as some of u may or may not know...my car is off the road...and has been since november last year.....2 weeks after i got it to be exact...and as of last night i cant drive the other car i been using either. whilst driving my dad's v8 eb fairmont in beauy last night i drove past cops comin out of a street goin the opposite way to me...n force of habit n nerves got me as i turned my high beams off (which i normally dont do cos the high beams in that car are only as good as normal low beams)...the buggers turned n came after me.....n i parked as usual in front of my friends house only to see the beautiful blue n red flashers n that wonderful spotlight that blinded me to buggery. they started walking round my car...gave me an official warning to not drive the car at night cos one of my headlights was out...n if i was caught doing so again i would be fined n cos im on my P's i would loose points...which i dont have many of to start with so i was pissed. as his buddy was given me the rbt this guy continued walking laps of the car...n came back to give me more wonderful news. he said that i was now gettin another official warning....now im not allowed to drive the car at all....the back right tyre is bald....n if i was caught doing so again (except for driving home that night of course) i would be fined n loose even more points n probly loose my license....i was thrilled.......

oh but here's the best part...they sat in their car...n watched me walk into my friends place...so wish i wasnt wearing wat i was at the time...i felt violated....

but yer...that was my fabulous night.....so now we have 4 drivers surviving on 2 cars.......all going different ways at different times.....oh i got the best luck with cars...cant ya tell.

Yep, Im putting you down because I want to look better on the internet.

Go buy a headlight globe for $10 and a 2nd hand tyre for $20 and drive the car. Its not rocket surgery.

MM that's shithouse. At least they let you drive home in QLD. In vic you can't drive the car if they police spot a bald tyre. Your car gets a thorough looking over and a pretty sticker for the windscreen, and in most cases $170 fine. On top of that you need to get the car roadworthy tested and then book it in to a dickroads inspection bay to get the car cleared to be on the road again.

Your car can be on the road in less than a day for less than the cost of a Victorian defect notice fine.

This is why people don't really care.

if we get a defect notice it gets sent to regency and they check for ANYTHING not stock, even rip the tint off your front windows, pricks :( but ends up costing way to much

HAHA great english..

Dont stress eb-baby. One globe, One tyre, 1hr max to fix both. It'll cost less than $50 if you get a second hand tyre from a wrecker or something. Then it'll be back on the road again.

What's wrong with your other car? Surely they can all be fixed pretty easily considering the price of parts for E-Series.

Why can't you go to work? You don't need your headlights for daytime driving. And surely the bald tyre could've been swapped for another last night when you got home?

Have you lost a day's pay because of this?

What's wrong with your other car?

my car has been off the road november.....after washing it one day lifted up the bonnet to have a peek...n a water pipe had bursted...n the mech reckons that the water got into the dizzy...so we got a new one n put it all back together....still doesnt start so he came back out n said its still the dizzy...so we'll try once more with a new dizzy hoping we juz got a broken one the first time....n if that doesnt work then....well...im hoping it does...cos i dont have the money to get an auto electrician out. also taken so long due to lack of time...which sucks...

interesting note...after washing my car that day i havnt been able to drive it since...n i washed my dad's car yesterday n told i cant drive it now...........im guessing i should stop washing my cars.....

I don't get it? You can't afford to risk driving to work in daylight with a headlight out, but you can afford to miss a shift?

And nobody could help you change your tyre this morning?

Stalker, I mentally noted the point ;)

the headlight had nothing to do with work today...obviously...
if it wasnt for them notciing the blad tyre i would have been at work. but the only person who could help me with the tyre this monring was my brother....n i set my alarm to 5 to try n catch him before he left so he could give me a hand...but when i got up he was gone...so he must have started earlier for some reason..i dunno

lol yer i am blonde......technically yes i was but i had clothes on so no...so that dont count....how would that make the police target me more tho...i didnt see a car parked anywhere in my street watching me lol

OK, well two quick questions:

1) what's your build? (with respect to strength for lifting a tyre up)
2) do you know how to change a tyre? <-- not an insult, a genuine question.

Its more important on the internet. I dont spell out my conversations in real life.

If your dizzy got wet it should have dried out and been fine. I would guess that the new dizzy got put in wrong or there is another issue. Maybe some important wiring got damaged.

Get your hands dirty and learn to change a tire and headlight globe. Its not that hard and being a chick isnt a good excuse.
