To keep or not to keep?

Postby Willow23 » April 21st, 2015, 11:34 pm

Hey everyone...

I own a 2004 Ba xr8 and I've owned it for near 2yrs now, it's staring to get to the point where I need to spend some dollars on it.. (Clutch, suspension, timing chain tensioners and it has a few scratches on it).

My point is. Is the car worth putting in the shed and holding onto as it's an fully optioned xr8 (leather, manual, sunroof and the previous owner spent big dollars on the exhaust).

Thanks for any advice in advance!

Wish I kept my fairlane now :-(
(Daily)BA Xr8
-5speed
-fully optioned
-full 2.5" twin stainless x-force exhaust.

(Weekend cruiser)Nf 5.0l fairlane
-many mods to come.

honestly i would get rid of it unless it has sentimental value to it, at the end of the day its just a BA XR8 nothing special about it.

And I'm sure the same was said for Xy gts too, though I don't think any new car will go down that track imho

Thanks guys,
Well it's not so much sentimental it's more if I spend money I'll keep it but if I sell it I'm going to get hardly any value out of it! It's probably only worth about $6000 as it sits. And it'll cost over half that to fix all the issues with it.

You can put it this way, I had a ba xr6t and i had it for sale because i knew things weren't rite with it and when i finally had it sold the turbo sh@t it self i had to change diff bushings and all other stuff on it to get it road worthy and in the end it didn't change the value of the car. After all the fixing i wish i had kept it longer...

Yeah that's it! If I'm going to spend money on it I may as well keep it. Just deciding on if I should is the hard part haha
