Well this is a beaten path lol but yes i have a 3.9 cpi an eb and its a solid donk no smurfs with hammers live in it in any way shape or form the gearbox is smooth as ya mrs beaver but its no tarmac terrorist nor a scarer of the local asian car fan genre but im a different lad and ima keep it in so no talk of mpfi or conversions etc aint hapnin so how do i go about atleast putting a crease in the tar seal no boost or squirts as ive heard the cpi doesnt take kindly to cams etc nor high heat being a 3.9 its no slouch it can boogie but aint no 4 litre i love the old bird to bits prefer it over the 4 litres as my opinion they sound throaty under load and serve their purpose 4 litres run rings round them but the simplicity is awsome and feels good to drive anyhow any help would be muchly appreciated ive had a few but never bothered till now lol cheers

You have a 3.9 that you're really happy with, but it's no "tarmac terrorist". You don't want to do anything to it, but want it to go better?

CPI skids:

1. Oil or water or KY on road, preferably a court in a leafy inner eastern suburb
2. At least one mate lifting a rear guard (have PGR roll the guards first so fingers don't get amputated - safety first!)

I just want to do something with it cheap or whatever to get some more omph im over the ditch in nz so ive used some no how and made a pipe that goes from underneath to the intake which has made a slight difference not much but i have noticed its a bit more responsive dont ask how lol but what can be done with the cpi to get some more boot

Light a match and flick it the bay with the fuel line loose

Back in the day when most people used to laugh at the 3.9 (not much has changed) however they can get up and go. A few others And spent quite a few years upsetting the v8 commodore clan with the old 3.9. Depends the budget but I would start here.

Well has extractors seems to have cured the strangled fart syndrome it had with that 20 kilo exhaust mani lol cutting down the big dinner plate intake to about half what it is ramflo set ups farkin expensive
