Hi folks,

Just a quick question I had my engine bay painted a couple of months ago and the painter removed the ID tags and I cant find them since.
The car is already registered etc. But I dont want to run into any problems, as I am already spending a crap load on this car.
I know they dont remake tags , but I am sure others have been in the same situation so what can I do?
I am located in VIC.

Thanks in advance.

If you're game you can ask VicRoads what to do. Sometimes that can cause more problems than it's worth - but what they'll likely do is refer it to the Motor Vehicle Theft Squad who will confirm the car's identity, then hopefully provide you with paperwork to say they've inspected it and confirmed it's identity. That way you'll have something to show when you sell it or if you run in to trouble.

But probs would sue the painter.

I don't know about Victoria, but they are not required for rego in NSW.

Hi folks I had another good look at the car and seems the only tag I am missing is the one that goes on the firewall. Can anyone tell me if this is going to pose any problems?
And what details does this tag hold?

Cheers
