okay my car has been sitting since about 1:30pm today.

i've been messing about with megasquirt 2, wouldnt start for some reason it was a ignitino problem. plugged the ms2 back in and it fired up, wouldnt idle which i expected buut after letting it run for a bit i let it die and hopped out to see this behind the exhaust..

when i put my fingers in it, it was like black paint, just soot. it doesnt smell like fuel. it seems like a fark load of condensation to me, but this much? please......

mine does the same thing on and off, its the valve stems that are in need of repair.
getting mine looked at on thursday so will le you know the outcome.

just condensation.. and the reason why its black is cos ur zorst is prob old and its got a build up of burnts fuel particles layered in it.. should still be fine!

my mechanic said my valve stem seals need replacing and mine does the same.
but i also have a blown gasket so i said he is jus talkin shit
ill never know im just changing engine

looks like it's running rich. Mine did the same. Sat idle at the end of the drive for a few minutes, it won't necessarily smell like fuel either.

Meh, the front of my AU is covered in that shite from every time I start the EB. Spose I could wash the AU, but I don't think it deserves it.

Anyone had their valve stem seals replaced? Mine are effed and I just want to know a rough cost before I contemplate doing it...

I didn't need to HTFU for anything. No cementaccinos or double concrete mochas at my end.

i was told somethin like $14 per seal buy a place. but thats with the head allready off the engine. might as well do it ya self if ya allready got the head off.
iv got full set here brand new. i cbf doing them cause im changing engine anyway

i fixed mine, i took fuel out of the map. i cant believe how many people must get around with these huge cams.. doesnt it kill your economy? mine didnt idle and ran rich as **** all of the time.

at the moment i have no ignition advance but i think its heaps more drivable (wade 1736) than the stock ecu.
