Is the Car a Manual or Auto ? - There are good cams out there which require no ECU modifications
I would say those cams mentioned would be the same - only "stock" cam that would give you a slight benefit would be an XR6 cam -
Check out surecam - or wade

Can get shims from wreckers (or Ford...)
For an auto try the 1636 from Wade cams. Won't transform the engine or anything but by the bum-o-meter it makes a slight improvement in power and torque. Although for me I went from EL Ghia (tickford-spec engine) to the 1636, so the difference might be a bit more dramatic for you.

They get fitted in between the hydraulic lash adjusters, and the socket they sit in on the rockers arms. When you pull the rocker gear off, there will already be one in there from factory. The wade 1636 needs a second shim (so 1 from factory plus another you picked up elsewhere) under each rocker arm.

wade 1636 sucks for me.
auto with full exhaust etc.
it has fark all bottom end power but good top end.
i hate it honestly. but might just be my engine being gay
