Anyone know what the hard parts are of a conversion like this one?

Just a random question.

Anyone who posts pictures of cats or mentions vicfords gets a punch in the face.

What about if there was a 4.0 XD-XF Vicfords build thread?

Seriously though, try xfalcon.com if you haven't already, there should be plenty of threads there where this has been done ;)

I think an XE electronic dizzy is needed(?), and the jury is out on XG engine mounts because it causes arguements in AFF threads

I think the K Frame in XG-XH is the same as the E-Series ones, because the strut towers and the rest are very similar. That's prob why the jury's out.

Gunns man go copy past some random racist jokes from another forum and claim them :)

In all seriousness I am quite sure that Adrian Galler with the GRA XE Turbo with AU engine had coustom mounts made, I don't know if it was for strength reasons or not.

IIRC the bottom hose location is on the passenger side on 4.1 X-flows... Not sure if you could fit an EF-L or even AU radiator in...

My mate put an ED xr6 engine in his XF sedan not long ago, plus ef 5 speed i think, maybe el...
Just boosted it like last week, just waiting on the dyno test.
Nice ba xr6 interior too, nice little project he's got going i guess.

Surely you'd just have a look an an XH/XG engine bay and just grab any usefull crap out of that? IIRC they changed very very little in the front suspension/K frame/sheetmetal area of the utes between XD and XH.

Get a 4 litre, use XG radiator, hoses, mounts etc etc etc, fit computer in normal place and run wires out to the engine bay like a normal E-series - You'd do it in a weekend, no worries :?

XG utes had old skool suspension/front end setup. the XH had suspension like an Eseries or EF i think.
oh and i'm pretty sure the steering was different on xh. i think the XG utes would have a fair few bits you could use on a xd-xf.

XG Mounts I'm pretty sure. Not all that had, Gary (Xdee) off xfalcon.com a few years ago didn't quick and easy. Ran it on gas and ran a dream

XG is basically XF front suspension, they still have a steering box.
I don't know why XG mounts wouldn't work, I've seen the shenanigans and people arguing, but theres been some smart people that say it works so I dunno.
I was gonna have a crack at this with a mates car, but ditched the idea when I sold the ED complete instead of parting.

He was getting a wrecker mate to put an AU donk in though, I dunno how it went, might call the cnt and find out.
