Question, How hard would it be to shoe-horn a 302 windsor enigne into an earlier model Ford. Say for instance a TD/TF Cortina or and XR-XD falcon? Seen it done to Stangs. I know anything is possible with the an angle grinder and a sledge hammer, but after more serious and practical answers and people thoughts.

Should be able to be done quite easy. Id say the mounts would be very similar in those models. Its been done with XL-XM, so I cant see why not.

A guy on street fords has done it to an old falcon, and here is his build thread;
http://forum.streetfords.com.au/showthread.php?t=2562From what I can tell from his build thread, it wasn't very hard. The car was fully rebuilt within a few weeks!

If its only the extractors that are the problem, then that sounds good!
Anything can be done, with time and money...

Effectivelly i would have an injected 347 stroker in one.....as in my engine. Still only engine mount problems? Also, what would be a good car to do it with, looking for ideas, possibile power to weight advantage, somthing a little differnt etc.

Well there a few guys with blown 351'sin Capri's, but thats not different.
Also done in Eskie's too!
I would personally rahter drop a nice injected Windsor in an XP, but thats just me. I'd build a car because i liked the looks of it, not just for weight advantages. But some new school in an old school car is always good!

As said, they'll fit into pretty much anything with some custom extractors. 5.0s are tiny motors.
What are you trying to achive with the car? Does it need to be engineered/registered?

Just trying to sus out ideas. Trying for a sleeper-esk style of car, something a little differnet, power to weight would be nice as an advantage. just a fun car basically.

I reckon a Capri or Cortina would be the go. The 5.0 is a better fit in the Capri engine bay than the V6. I don't know about legality on them, you'd have to check with TSA to make sure, but I believe with V6 running gear, they'll pass Regency. You'll have to run an EEC and all the emissions gear from the EB.
Oh, and tell them it's a stock 5.0, not a stroker

South African capri's had the 5.0 as standard!
Cant you just put more psi's into the EB to make up for the weight? They arent that heavy and you will still have good comfortable shit inside it.

Compression is to high to just bolt some form of psi onto the engine. Dont want to lunch it. As much as i would love to, budjet is another kick in the teeth for that.
