Im about to start hitting up auctions in the hunt for a V8 EL/NL/DL but have no clue where to start. Wheres the best places to go? How do you know what will be up for auction? How do you go about bidding on a car you want?

Help would be great

check their websites weekly

go once or twice first for a look, get a feel for how it works
then go buy

NL is the Fairlane, DL is LTD

Is there any major difference?

yer as EFFalcon said just go down to fowles or pickles, I know viewing for fowles is on a tues and auctions are on weds, so just go down on weds and have a look see how it all works. it's pretty straight forward.

I have been to a heap of damaged and cheapie auctions over the past year or so. Both Fowles and Pickles.

In my opinion, eBay is the way to go. There has been so many roughish NF/NL's go for $1800-2500 recently its not funny. At least most of them are drivable and easy to get home. Im guessing you are looking for a conversion car?

At auctions, i have seen crashed ones (not drivable) go between $2-5k. God knows why?

Thats why I told Pete not to start looking until next month or so when he has enough cash, no doubt something will come up now when he aint ready.

thats what the boys do beth, they buy wrecks even if they arent ready for it
