Hey guys , iv just purchased a 12inch sub and amp from a mate. so i was sitting around checking me car out trying to think of different ideas were to put the amp and shit , I came up with the idea of getting a peice of thing ply board not to thin though and cutting it to shape and then putting carpet or something of that idea on it, Then drilling it to the top of the boot lid , so when u open up the boot its right their in front of your eyes and not in other places , so im wondering before i get into this project tommorow or saturday has anyone seen any pics or anything like this , and if so wats the link , id like to see some pics, Thanks .....Brock

Problem with this setup is the amp may overheat. Most amps need to sit either face up, or horizontally/vertically for airflow.

fluff the amp and mdf will be to heave for the boot shocks so the boot wont stay open. also being the amp will be upside down the heat sink wont work properly as heat rises so it will soak back into the amps board.

have a look here these are probably the best places to put them.

As these guys said
It depends on how much your willing to spend

You could go all out and get the moulded fibreglass

Or just stick it on the back of your subbox and make the sub face the seats, then you could see it? if thats what your after

As for under car seats, they are still sitting the right way, which promotes air flow, when its upside down, the hot air will rise to the big heavy 'bottom' and wont be able to go anywhere

Thats fair enough , i thought id just try and do something different and nah stuff fiberglassing and all that unless i wanted to turn it into a show car or something , which would be good if i could find a spear 15 grand. Im mainly just bored as **** and wanna do some upgrades to the car .

- They are illegal.
- There'd be fucked up back pressure when the valve is closed.
- Doubt the butteryfly valve would last long with a 4L (or any displacement amount for that matter)
- $500 for single a single muffler that then has to be welded into piping (more $$$) is hardly good value + the rest of the exhaust (more $$$) + additional muffler(s)/resonator(s) (more $$$). <---- but then again I'm a cheapy so if you have the money that's negligible :D

Just as you explained it and compared Falcon exhaust to WRX made my stomach growl
Just get 2.5 or 3'' catback, the 2.5 goes decent loud
