I signed up about 5 or 6 years ago to what ever site was being used at the time as 'Tugboat'.
I signed up on someone elses computer because I didn't have my own so I obviously didnt' post much. That was just before Lukey039 was elected QLD Rep for eseries, I met luke a panel shop and he told me about the club.
I signed up as tugboat because that's what they used to call me at QuickFit tyres where I worked at the time.
I went to every cruise Luke ever put on, I knew they were on via txt message on my phone, thanks Luke when you see this.

I've been around since around the time the EA-ED club and EF-EL club joined together (i remember there was alot of talk about it when i first started lurking). First time I joined the forums though was in May 2003 when I first got the EA

Rmyers wrote:I wonder if anyone else from here still has the origional EAfalcon.com stickers, i still do!

HAHA my EA still has them, but their peeling off/ sun damaged now, and the guy who owned it for the last 3 years peeled off the "E" so now a few of them read AFALCON.COM

I have a vinyl cutter so I can make some new ones for it, i'll do it when it gets registered no need for it right now if it just sits in the garage

I caught up with the guys up here when things were all go on FF.com. That's four years ago now.

The I8 site looks scary! :)

I wasn't around in the old ford.i8 days, but it couldn't have been too long after the join with FF.com since I joined the EA-D Club with my NA Fairlane and from what I remember, I was one of the first (if not the first) to put EL Ghia seats/trims into an EA-D (well I put them in my NA but yeah) then after that Walki went onto do the whole conversion in the EAL..

Walkinshaw wrote:Who remembers "I used a dipstick to try and start my car and it caught fire"

It didn't go quite like that I don't think.

Someone claimed that they could get a EA hotwired using the park lights to power the fuel pump and then put power to the starter relay which would do this, that or the other and lead to the motor starting or some junk. I think it was Ben - and obviously was also BS.

A lot of theoretical arguments ensued, mainly from that clued up guy EA238.

Then, not long after EA238 put up a thread claiming he'd tried the theory and in the process blown a fuel line or something off and a spark from the starter relay ignited the fuel which was pissing out on to a nearby new model Mercedes of some sort.

EA238 then threatened legal action against Ben and said he'd gone back to all of Ben's posts and saved them, and was going to use these posts to try and sue him for the damage to his own car and the damage to the Mercedes as his own insurance wouldn't cover him.

More arguments, laughter and pity followed until EA238 declared it was all a lie. It was the funniest shit ever I swear, that was one of the best threads on Ford.i8 and I remember LOLing a lot at it.

Yep add me to the list.I think from memory Tim I found the site by accident "google EA Falcon"One of the best cars made, well I love mine and couldn't believe that there was other people out there who did too, and low and behold "fordi8" popped up didn't make sense at the time but it started out as a small group back then and now look at it.I can remember when I started to modify my car.Might laugh now as its not as modified as all of you today but back in the day 15.2 was pretty quick for an EA and everyone was always wondering what I was going to do next, there were not to many cars that were modified bar exhaust. For ages there I was the only one. Then everyone caught up to me and then some(read getting WAXED).I can remember when Karls Yellow EA ran a 15.3 which was bloody quick. Can anyone remember Bass Crazy?? He was poineer as well, that stero setup Ef manifold conversion before me and at home paint job that one a few awards. His was also an 88 model like mine but I think it might have been an 87.Its amazing what a few years can do .Crow 825 was one of the biggest cams you could get (which I had for ages) now its a tow cam.

Thanks Tim.It was great being the Rep for all those years we had some good meets but it was time to hand over the rains to new blood I think I had a fair go and you have filled my shoes fine.

Yep still have the Ea sticker on there with pride.Did get some "what is that from" some of the new members but thats were it all started. So far a 14.5 hopefully there is still more once Iam let out of my cage.

And I do remember Brent79 good bloke.Disappeared!

Was ScoopeED apart of that as well. He's putting that 351 into his ED from memory.

Why is it everytime you guys shift forums I'm the last too know! I haven't dissappeared for that long surely

I was around in the ford.i8 days, I think my username back then was xploded ea or something similar. Had my dad's rosewood coloured EA wagon at the very beggining then bought a sky blue EA sedan. It's weird seeing all those old names thrown around again. Alot of funny threads from back in the day, that Ben guy was always good for a laugh and all that stuff with GrampaHenry or whatever his name was, the EA with a 351 that did the triple tonne or some rubbish and he ended up bein a 13yr old kid or something? Alot of people thought he was the god of E-series till he was found out, that's going way back towards the begging there aswell. And I'm another one to of had something to do with Brent79, I'm sure I bought a full set of EA or EB Fairmont seats and an XR6 camshaft off him for not alot of money, really nice bloke. Didn't he put climate control in his car aswell, and wasn't he talking of selling the wagon before he dissappeared???

And speaking of selling cars it's the reason for my dissappearance from the old forums lately and will be the reason I'll be dissappearing from the forums in future, I just listed my car for sale on carsales.com today and have been trying to flog off spare parts for the last few weeks on fordforums (I have an explorer manifold and full set of pedders lowered suspension for a V8 for sale if anyone is interested). My time owning an E-Series is up and I'm going to be buying a 4wd, already put a deposit on it and everything. I'll miss owning a Falcon but I'll be relieved aswell as I haven't had the best of runs with either Falcon I've owned.

Great to find all you guys again!

Hey this guy Ed, are you still asian ? :P

Brent79 still use to pop into the IRC channel from time to time, he kept buying EA's and NA's on ebay by accident because he would put in low bids and win, then he was stuck with a heaps of cars and nothing to do with them or something. I don't know lol.

Anyway did you get the paint and stuff all fixed properly on your EF ? Cobalt Blue EF XR's are soooo rare, if you were in melbourne i would e tempted to buy.

GL with the sale.

Last time I checked I still think I was

Honestly I haven't touched the paint work which is why it's cheap compared to others for sale on carsales and I'm willing to go even lower.

It's a shame, the way things went for you Ed, that's for sure.
I'm glad I was able to benefit from the demise of your light blue EA though. The Pacemakers I bought off you are still in active service but the rest of that exhaust only lasted one spirited drive over Mt. Mee.
Don't let the fact that you don't have a falcon, stop you from coming down to say g'day on a thursday night though. You'll always be welcome Ed, your one of the originals!

Not having a Falcon won't stop me from coming down, it'll be the lazyness factor coming into play.

Glad those extractors are still goin strong
