I'll post one of these every time I find something funny that I would think no one would know about...
- 136 Manual EL GT's were recalled to fit a stronger clutch in them not long after their release in 1997.

LOL, the standard PBR one i have now is going alright with the blower.
That would be one of the first times FOrd has actually fixed something they thought was wrong, and didn't just fix them when they fucked up.

In 1995 there was a recall on ED XR8 Sprints because of brake failure.

Something about the teeth on the pressure plate. I think just the pressure plate was changed, one with reinforced teeth was fitted.

136 would be the total run of Australia-bound manuals wouldn't it?
[edit] - Sunny, are you able to check how many BTR's were replaced under warranty in the EAII/EA30th? Should be good for a laugh

Nah but there were a couple of campaigns. One was an inspection and then rectification (if problem found) on the arm that attaches to the selector lever that comes out of the transmission. Some gump at the factory was fitting a lot of them backwards, so that the bend in them was fitted facing towards that trans which meant it could snag on the side and lead to a jammed gear selector.
Another did you know - 4 speed EA CFI only (3.08 diffs) manufactured between September '89 and October '90 were recalled to have a new tailshaft and diff fitted. There was a problem with those 3.08 diffs that caused premature wear to the tailshaft, that could lead to failure. All in the field were apparently replaced.
