Bye bye DPORTD V2!

Postby needfordspeed » May 29th, 2008, 5:58 pm

.....Or I should say WLI661 (kept my plates)

Well it's gone, the guy that bought it just picked it up about 15 minutes ago, he's only 18 and it's his first car...lucky bastard :P Him and his dad came to check it out a few weeks ago, they were really interested then I didn't hear from them for about 2 weeks then the dad called me and checked it out again the next day and left me a deposit. They wanted to buy it with a RWC so I had to sort that out and yesterday I finally got it and took it to vicroads to get my plates taken off and get standard issue plates.

This car was A+++ for thrashing, took it to princess heaps of times, went to calder 3 times and used to give it a fair bit in general and it never let me down, but I just wanted to sell it while it was still worth something (got $9k for it) plus I got used to the power too quick so I kept on thinking of expensive stuff to make it faster which would have been dead money in the end anyway, another reason for selling was that I didn't build alot of it myself and that kinda got to me, i'll get something decent happening next year :D. But hey....i'll be back in a eseries soon enough bought a EF Gli on gas off eBay the other day so just gotta pick that up.

Anyways here's some pics from today before it left my hands:

You should give them your contact no and tell them that if (haha when) he stacks it, you'll buy it/parts back.

Good stuff Gill, fair effort with the RW by yourself.

Put a lot of work in to it in the last few months, but good to see it contributed to getting some good money for it in the end.

Oh well. "bigger and better" as they say.

Well done on the sale, did you mention the club to the car's new owner does he seem the type interested in learning about the car he has, or just enjoying the crap out of the car until he needs to buy a new one?

Didn't really mention the club, I don't think he was the type to come on here anyway I think he just wants to drive it until his off his P's then get a V8 lol.

I think Sunny got one of the last burnouts a I done on his phone....don't know how it came out though i'll put up links and pics of all burnouts later though :P Didn't give it too much before I let it go, I thrashed it enough while I had it, so there was no real point!

And yeah a fair bit of work went into it in the last few months, pretty much got it to the standard I wanted to have it at (minus wheels) took my bloody time though, it'll be different next time :P Next car will be an EF gli just to drive around as a daily, I pick that up on sunday won't be doing anything major to that. But the car after that will be boosted, i'm sure you'll all know about it when that project starts!

Looks fuckin MINT ...especially those seats, are they full custom leather? Basically what I wanna do with mine.

So what was under the hood ...a blower or turbo? N/A?

Seats are fully custom done by AutoImage here in Thomastown......Under the hood was a DEV5 kit with race series extractors and intake + unichip making 167.8rwkw, ran 14.4 @ 99.5MPH......really wish I raced it a bit more and got a 13 outta it :(

Yeah would suck to see it all fukd but I don't think this kid will realise it's a bit of a handful even in the dry. Let's just hope he's smart. Can't say he looked it.
