Hey guys , problem iv had now for a couple of days is my car wont start , My brother and myself though it would be a smart idea to de grease the engine in my car and all was going well till he threw some warm water on the engine to wash the shit off and then after a couple of hours of sitting we went to start it and it didnt , so after another 2 hours of trying to start it the battery went flat , so we tried to jump it and it almost fired ,

So 3 days later after checking fuel , fuses , and using a hair dryer on warming up the injecter plugs like a bloke told me to help still not starting , anyone with an idea some help would be great thanks..

They will at least do some tests and tell you if there is spark or not, or if it's weak spark or something. They will also check if it's getting fuel.

That's a thought actually.... can you hear the fuel pump prime when you turn the key on? I imagine that the relays got some water too? If they are upside down then it's easy to fill them with water, I've seen that before.

Get him to hold a screwdriver in one of the leads while you turn the key, see if there's any spark.

It could also be the ignition module on the dizzy.

I have a solution. It involves 5L of petrol and a box of matches.

I'd almost put money on it being the coil. Had this EXACT problem before with the degreaser then water leading up to it. I'd done it a few times before that but this last time the coil cracked the shits. Not really a simple fix unfortunately.

Its either the dizzy or the coil , but the mechanic i was talking to he said he thinks its the coil so im going to replace both of them and get some new leads.

next time, (which may be soon or somewhere down the track) to save yaself a trip to the mechanic and some dollars, check if ya got spark by putting a plug with lead on the engine and turning it over, no spark, i'd check the coil pack..
