its easy... tip, undo sway bar to get the spring/shock out of the wheel arch easier.

spring compressors are a maybe.

yeh fronts are shit compared to the back but with a sledge it eventually will come out.
you can do it without compressors but they can make it alot easier.

pull top ball joint apart its alot easier.
in the end ya cant really stuff up. its just a matter of puttin crap back together if ya undo shit ya dont need to.

Just make sure you do everything up twice.... and very, very tight.

undoing the ball joint is a PITA.

i undo the upper control arm to body mounts. 2 bolts each side, no ball joint fucking about required.

undoing balljoint.
pull split pin. undo single nut.
lift uper control arm. if its stiff. quick hit with a hammer. worked on 3 cars iv done in the last 2 weeks.
only had 1 car a while ago (bloody wayne) that we couldent get it to split.

yeah my car was a shtknt to do.... the ball joint just wouldnt seperate from the upper arm even using a fullsize sledgehammer so we bent the shocks instead (they were being replaced anyway.)

the new shocks went in much easier for some reason..
