I'm planning to move to Melbourne ...can you help?

Hey all,

I want to live & work in Melbourne.

To cut a long story short, my painful 4 your long fucked-up marriage to a selfish, screwed-up, cheating wife is soon coming to an end ...and I want to leave Perth and start a new life in Melbourne.

I've always liked Melbourne from previous visits, and think it'll be a great place to start again and put everything behind me.

If all goes to plan, I will be ready to leave Perth within the next 2-3 months tops ...and I will have / bring the following:

1. My DEVEL XR6 (will consider self-storing it here until I'm ready)
2. Approx. $210,000 in the bank
3. My adorable female Tabby cat
4. 2-3 suitcases of clothes

I'm actually a VERY employable person, with lots of experience in a variety of Sales / Account Managers roles in all sorts of industries from Industrial, Scientific, and Retail, through to Advertsing & Media.

I am also an experienced DRUMMER, and would like to get back involved in the live music scene there.

And of course, I'm a FORD nut ...so VIC cruises FTW!

I have NO idea of where I'm gonna stay when I get there at the moment ...but ideally I would like to approach it as follows:

1. Find someone over there who will let me (and my cat) stay with them (I will pay my way of course) until I can find a job, and then get my own rental property. NOTE - I WILL CONSIDER LIVING IN OR SHORT-TERM RENTING A VACANT PROPERTY THAT SOMEONE THERE MAY HAVE, AS LONG AS MY CAT IS WELCOME & SAFE!

2. Once I have had my job a sufficient amount of time ...I will then move out of the rental property, and use the money I have in the bank as a deposit for my own pad ...then I'll be set up.

CAN ANYONE HERE THAT'S MELBOURNE-BASED OFFER ME ANY ASSISTANCE?

I WILL DEFINITELY PAY MY WAY ...AND I WILL BE MORE THAN GRATEFUL!

Cheers guys ;)

Problem is ...I'll have NO place to stay when I arrive, or NO rental references ...so finding a rental pad may be difficult too.

Can anyone here suggest any budget, short-term accommodation I can look at?

Hey, first of all let me say I think it's awesome you're picking up and starting over again. 210k in the bank is going to be a great help.

Vic Eseries cruises own, so thats the main reason you should be moving down here XD
I would suggest looking up the melbourne gumtree site, I see ads all the time on there for available property to rent short and long term, definately would be a good place to start. And my advice would just be to do all the shit you've ever wanted to :) Good luck!

What about share accommodation? That could be the go for the short term while you find a job and a place of your own.
