Do you need a work ute to load up with shit? Or do you just have a fetish for ex-work vehicles? That ute is a Tradesman, a 1 tonner ultra ultra super dooper pov pack. How many kays does it have?
$10k would buy a nice EL, a clean XF ute on gas and still have a lot of change. Or replace XF ute with EF wagon for the same price.

Dude 10k? Steep as.
As above post said. One Tonners are work utes, no luxuries at all.

I wouldn't buy that XH, look in the Trading Post/ Local paper for a decent Ford ute....$10 is mid-high series AU ute territory.
Doesn't everyone love how the XH is a mongrel of a falcon? Early E series intake system, EL engine, XF dash+door trims with EF/EL touches, EA-EB1 center console and a chassis originally designed in 1979 when Peter Brock was a boy and Ford V8s had as much power as a hand-held battery operated fan.

Find a cheaper example mate

you'll save thousands.

lol, clearly you have lots of money to throw around, you want to spend 10k on that ute when there's better examples out there for up to $4000 less.
I'm not saying don't buy it, but you'll be spewing in 6 months when you realise you've paid way too much for it and have 3-4 more years of paying it off every single week, or sell it for 1/2 what you paid for it and pay off a loan on a car you don't even own.

How much money do you net each week? How much will you have left after you blow the $10k and start repayments each week/fortnight/month? At least find one on LPG...

I've got to agree with everyone mate. You could probably get yourself a much nicer example for 6k-8k
$10k is a fair whack for something like this. The salesman must be laughing. (no offence)
I'd reconsider this buy very seriously. Plus you wanna do extractors, exhaust etc. Extra $1500?
Plus your warranty may only cover it so long as its stock

uv all got really good point here.
umm, iv been lookin into it, i bring home 260 without bonus.
its gonna b about 60 bucks a week for 5 yrs.
she'll b right.
im goin this one cos its threw work, just easy to deal with.
and really, how many utes out there that r ten yrs old for 6-8 k hav 100 thou k's on em?
and i know that theres gonna b nothin rong with it buyin it threw the dealership, instead of forkin out 8k for a private seller only to hav the thing kick the bucket a yr or 2 later.

Mate if you buy that you'll be kicking yourself for the next 5yrs.
Did you have a look at the carsale links? Have a look on autotrader as well, theyre normally cheaper again.
Whats the warranty for anyway?
http://www.carsales.com.au/used-cars/pr ... 0&trecs=95Thats a ripper ute at a great price too, 3 grand cheaper that your heap + a respray, rims, exhaust, lowered, custom tray etc... shit.. I know which I'd pick.

Every car out there is a polish, cluster swap, seat covers and a floormat away from being a 40,000km car

kms mean SFA on a Falcon, it's all about maintaining it. Unless you like to masturbate over the fact your car has a lower number on the cluster.

What kind of ute are you after?
Because 1 tonners are just for work. I personally don't like the look.
Look at some XR6 Utes, and maybe some AU ones too. They look a whole lot better, and would be around the 10k mark. You'd be a lot happier with your buy, I guarantee it.
A nice stocker for you, with all the features.

I'm glad you didn't get that other ute. Then I saw what your after now. Oh boy!
You could buy a high k one for way cheap and replace just about every part in it with brand new and still have change from 10k. I would just get a later model with a few more ks and some nice extras already included. Easy as!

Go for the AU ute that robert mentioned!
http://carsales.com.au/used-cars/privat ... &Make=FORDSo what if its got 80,000k's more on it, its still going to be reliable. It will be a much nicer car, better feel to it, look's a lot better... and if it does break anything, it probably wont cost more than the $1050 you would save buying it to fix it.
189,000k's isnt old for a falcon if thats the reason your going to buy the 100,000k car...
As everyone here has said, $10,000 is too much for such an old car!

Never never never buy 2nd hand cars from dealers. They charge a massive premium compared to a private sale, and there is basically no benefit.
Warranty isn't worth sht as there is always fine print that gets them out of paying.
Get your deposit back and go buy something privately. You could get something just as nice for half the price you are paying.
I don't think you've really thought this through.

not true mate. Have a look at oneredED's experience with his BMW which he bought through a dealer... only to have it shit itself within 6 months. dont assume that just because its from a dealer, that everything is going to be mickey mouse. If you are a first year apprentice mechanic, just get your boss to have a quick check over any car that you look at. he'll tell you if there is any glaring issues with the car, and you should be able to trust him as its in his interests that you can reliably make it to work on time.

At least youre not buying the commondore, it was 3 years old right? Look what a 10 year old VS 6cyl is worth now, about the same as an XH, $6k tops.
I know the XH is expensive but at least he wont lose $14,000 on it in 7 years lol.
Find a cheaper XH pal if you really like them, the XR's are way overpriced and would be killer for full comp insurance at your age. Even if you spend $6k on an okay one, spend $4k on mods and you will be still in front instead of starting with a $10k car and modding from there..
Take some advice from some of these older fellas, i know i shouldnt have purchased a new car when i was 18, first year apprentice. Lucky i only lost 10grand over 3 years on a laser, if i had have got an AU2 xr6 like i really wanted i would have lost $20k!

im not goin an AU or an XR, lol
AU's r ugly things, and the insurance on an XR will kill me,
i like the look of the "trady ute"
cos i like my BNS style utes, its gonna cop a roll bar, a few spotties, mud flaps. maby some side skirts, and i MIGHT think about puting a bullbar on it.
butbassicly itll b turned into a bastard child between a streeter and a BNS ute

I want 20k for my EF, I know I'll never get it, but if someone offered 20k, I'd sell in an instant. That doesn't mean EF's are 20k, and as you've been shown, theres HEAPS of XH utes for thousands less. A thousand dollars is a years rego, and a couple of months of fuel.
Links to 12k XH utes? I bet they're XHII XR8's and shit. Not stock 10 year old pov pack tradie utes that cost $21,000 drive-away new.
No-one here has said that XH is a good buy, everyone on this thread has said it's overpriced, and you've been shown better deals, yet you're still trying to tell us that what you're going to buy is the best value for money out there.
You like B&S style utes. I do too, you can pick up hell country wannabe sluts in them. And they usually **** hard. As said above though, a B&S ute doesn't mean you have to buy the most expensive stock pov pack you can find. From experience, B&S sluts like AU's a lot more than XH's, you can root 6ft chicks in AU's and VUs, not XH's. Most of the carsales links you've been shown include at least some of the B&S shit anyway. Price up a 4 post bullbar and a rollbar.
Also is that $10,000 drive-away?
Good point. Stamp duty will be over $400 on top of the 10k.
Hooked, your boss is a thinking man. He knows if you buy that ute, you'll have to work for him to keep payments up on that overpriced ute. Then if a 'warranty' needs to be done on it, you'll be doing it after hours, and probably be paying trade price for anything you need to replace. Yeah I'd employ apprentices like you too

Gold. This guy might be a virgin so you've probably got his attention now.
If I was going to blow $10k on an e-series it would have to be a 5L, not a boxcar, fairly modded already, and in good condition. I reckon you could get all that for like $6k anyway. How $10k on an XH would be a good deal is beyond me.

Hooked, for a base model ute, maybe widen the goal posts a bit & look at 200,000 or even 250,000km examples. Ford sixes go on forever. Also, at 100,000, I'm assuming it hasn't done a head gasket yet...
