The gear boot is something Ive wanted to do to mine for a while. How did you go about attaching it? Did you just use a handbrake boot?

Pete, have a look at VY-VZ autos, you may be able to use their gearboot under a BTR fascia

I think if it had a handbrake boot on it but somehow stuck to the top and bottom so it wouldnt move much would make it look really good ..
But it looks fine as it is..

TAXI, you'll need to cut a bigger hole in your console, and fab up some boxing to hold the BA shifter housing in. Sit it as low as possible.
Got any better pics of your setup so far mate? Mine looked fully hobo until I finally lowered the whole lot & covered it with the GT boot

No go there, it's a slide-on part (and is held in by a screw), with a thick(er) plastic arm in the guts of it which moves in the opposite way to an E-series metal one when the detente (or whatever the button is called) is depressed.
Got some pics of the car here
http://boostedfalcon.net/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=4 & more coming when I get stuck into it again.

Because he's stuck in the 80s

Only Dave would replace an EB tapedeck with an EF tapedeck!

The pic was taken last night at 10 pm when i finished hacking the console, and that is only a temp until i get another.
The shifter is 85 mill up at highest point cos i cut the shifter not the tunnel. i may be able to get it ten mill lower. I will get more pics when finished.

I have no use for CDs in the car (factory 4" door speakers, factory 6" parcel shelf speakers), & rarely use the tapedeck anyway. When I do, it's either for the radio or for the ipod. I wanted something that looked plain/factory: I hate non-factory flashy head units, they rice up the interior. Plus the tapedeck continued the orange LCD theme (I have a digital dash).
I'm too hobo to pay decent money for an EF-EL premium stereo, I only replaced the original because FM was dead & the tape player was dicky. Would you believe an EF GLi tape deck absolutely sh*ts over an EB Ghia tape deck with regard to sound quality, power, functions, etc?
TAXI - cutting the shifter housing like what you've done sounds like possibly a better way to do it! So the plastic "flange" around the base of the housing (where the 4 bolts line up with the E-Series trans tunnel bolt holes)... did you cut out/"lift"/reattach this higher up, to lower your housing when fitting?
RE the rims, I don't know much about where they originated from, I bought mine off an RX7 owner in Sydney. There's a bloke in Perth with a set on his XH panelvan however his outer pieces are 1" larger diameter & have much less dish than mine (same turbo blade-style face, the outer rim is interchangable though). Try & snap a pic of this Horsham example if you can! Although I'm tipping they're SVO rims, on an SVO boxcar.

I think rice'n up the interior is fine with any kind of car... Just dont rice up the exterior too much ..

Comanndo i cut most of the bottom half of the shifter off, and held it down using 3 small bolts.one through the spot where the wiring plug was, one beside the cable and one bout 2 inches to the left. just drilled a hole and that holds tight i have some pics on fast fords of how i cut it.
