car wont start.

it turns over fine, starts for a second does that initial start rev then stalls.

im not sure if the fuel pump is working or not cant tell on my own.

gauge is real low, and trip computer is saying like 2 kms to empty.

i have never run outta fuel in a e series before, what are the tell tale signs?

its either fuel pump or fuel.

one e series i had did the fuel pump but it would turn over but wouldnt even kick once so im thinkng its out of fuel, if i rev it a bit it revs to about 2-3 grand then dies but back fires some times and it feels like its under load or something it does it the most.

Ahh yes, running out of fuel while waiting for your pay, i've been there man lol.

I ran out in the grey EL once. It started making those clunk clunk noises like in the movies but thats because I was driving it.

Then I ran outta gas.

I was less than 5 metres from the servo.

Fail.

I was low on fuel one night, the trip meter was reading 1km DTE, and I parked on a slight uphill slope at Dirty Bird before hitting the fuel station. Got back in to start the car, and it'd die after initially turning over, like u said. I slipped it in N & it rolled back 5m until flat, then I started the car, fired up OK, drove to the petrol station <500m away and it was coughing as I rolled up to the bowser.

Then I set the toaster to "3", medium-brown...

Just kick the begezzers out of the fuel tank from underneath if you get 5 litres in there and still no go.
E-series pumps are shite.
I ran out of fuel in mine twice, once it fried the pump and left me stranded in butt-feck idaho, the second time i had LPG installed recently luckilly as i was in peak traffic so i just flicked it across!

punched my bonney for nothing. fkn intake tube had split and had a gaping hole in it, so the maf was off its face

i cable tied a bit of plastic over it and taped it up, seems to be ok now. get me to work tommorow

then i will get a new intake, i might even go wanka rice and get a chrome bit of pipe and some of those blue joiners.

it has a 70 mm maf and 70 mm t/b so the stock intake pipe really has to stretch over it, fking hard to get it on.

Have you put fuel in it?
Sometimes it will run bad after because the crap in the tank sucked into the filter. Good time to change the tank filter.

haha i have done ran out a fuel in the el too

but i blame neither of the gas or petrol fuel gauges work.
someone help me fix them please haha

Not in a V8. But I made it half way up olivers hill 1 night and my fuel pump in the XR6 shit itself. Couldnt have stopped at a worse spot, it was around a blind corner going up hill.

how do people run out of fuel? Do you think hey - ill go past this servo because the magic fuel fairy will piss in my fuel tank -
