My headlights on my EF monty are going yellow, the common problem i beleve.

So my question is, are there dramas with the non gen fitting properly?

Genuine headlights still go for over 500 qwid?

Cheers

non gen apparently go yellow quicker.
talk to wayne. he does a great job polishing them up and getting rid of the yellow.

Does the yellowing happen on the xr6/xr8 quad headlights?

I've heard the EF/EL non genuine lights have problems with the lenses melting! I'd avoid them.

Tiga_el (Rips) has been running non genuine EL headlights for over 3 years and has had ZERO problems with them. They are FINE to use and look great, no fit problems either.

I have seen some of the Fairmont shape ones that have very poor fit though. That's it.

Its the outside which goes yellow, not the inside. just work your way thru wet and dry from like 800 up, then polish them with a good car polish/autosol. Took me 1/2 an hour to do mine.

EL GIi ones would be fine, EF Falcon and Fairmont ones are the problem..
they have an internal shroud which isnt in the EL GLI lights. on the non gen ones, this shroud is made out of abs plastic instead of the same fiber stuff as the reflector.... it then melts and sags down inside the light.
