Rebuild EF motor for turbo, or AU conversion?

Hey guys, Well my car is off the road for the next 6 months... I have done a head gasket, but I had plans on turbo charging my EF, I've been exploring some options which are put in a low km AU motor, or rebuilt my current motor, my concern there is that my motor has 283,000kms behind it, its also on dual fuel and staying like it too.

What sort of work would need to be carried out to achieve 250rwkw?... I have the injectors sorted, and ECU sorted... Thanks for any help guys.

Rebuild the EF but it will be more expensive then to buy an AU motor.

Fix the head gasket this weekend. Turbo that. Win.

I am thinking of doing that...

I'm unsure what needs to be done to achieve the 250rwkw mark...

And I have around $1,000 in the head worse case scenario...

Apart from turbo, cooler, exhaust, fuel system and all the usual crap, get some stiff valve springs and run 98 octane fuel, you should make that on around 12psi I reckon.

You could help things be getting the head ported etc, but you'd be spending money better spent elsewhere - my car made 397rwhp(297rwkw) with a biggish turbo, stock ED head, stock cam and stock intake manifold on 15psi boost.

Money sort of isn't a big issue at the moment, my car will lay dorment for a while (I dont need it)... I want it to make 250rwkw but still have some reliability... I'm unsure what engine work will need to be carried out to achieve this tho, and what I would need to replace and what not on my current motor considering it is 283,000ish kms..
