ABS = spongy brakes, but you'll slow to about 60

non-ABS = lock up at 100 & skid past the roo doing about 95. But you'll look sick doing it

You can buy aftermarket fibreglass ones which then have to be grafted to your bonnet.
Otherwise, an original XR8 buldge, chopped out and welded to your bonnet. The fibreglass alternative flakes and comes loose sooner than the original steel option though IIRC.
It obviously would have to be primed and painted to suit as well.
Custom-cut buldges come up on ebay every now and then and go for about $150 unprimed

the problem with the fibreglass ones is that they will shrink over time and make lines on the bonnet where it had been grafted on...
and if you weld on a metal one cut out of a genuine BA XR8 it will distort the bonnet....

the best way would be to graft a fibreglass one on, and then remember to use ltd/fairlane bonnet struts cos the bonnet will weigh 2x more lol.

and when it inevitably shrinks rub it back n fix it and then repaint it.

if its done properly there shouldn't be any issues.
Rmyers used a metal one and welded it on.
obviously not all the way around, tacked it, cleaned it up then glassed it.

the bonnet shouldn't weigh too much more with the bulge on it, fibreglass isnt that heavy.
infact if you removed some of the metal from under where the bulge will sit, it'll prob end up near the same.

Maybe if you arc weld it on.

Fibreglass does shrink for a bit after it's cured, the trick is to put it on the shed roof or similar so it gets lots of sunlight for a month or 2, and shrinks/warps into its final position before you fit it.

Use phat custom kits in dandy Timmy he manufactures and sells the buldges to XXX bodykits and most other shops around the area. He charges $200 or $250 to graft a fibregless mould to your bonnet takes around 3 days the buldges are generally around $200. dont stess over weight the bonnet wont be much heavier at all. he is the one that done the work on my bonnet on the AU.
