New additions to Vic Pol

Just a bit of a heads up guys, apparently there are a few new additions to the local cops.
there's a VE SS or the like with 'hoon spec'. Lowered, big rims, etc etc. over 100k worth. This is a car that puts out alot of power apparently, thus, only a few (approx a dozen) are allowed to drive it.
Secondly there's 2 rx7's about to hit the road.
again, worked like crazy, only about 2 doz. allowed to drive this one.
all in an attempt to catch hoon drivers.
someone is in the process of getting me the plates and i'll post them up once i have them. Just as a heads up for anyone considering a drag...you may want to double check the outfit that is being worn by the driver if you can see through the dark as feck tint!

What is the point of cops spending big money on mods when they don't chase anyone that runs in fear of public/3aw outcry??

I was thinking the exact same thing when I read the first post.
They can do the same job in an XT than a modified performance cars!!

IIRC, the police are presented with a bunch of different cars to try out and to see if they like them.
Its like a testing period they go through instead of using the same of Falcons or Commodores.
They tried the STI WRX for a short while but they kept on blowing up the gearboxs.

I love the fact that the cops have resorted to driving illegal cars to catch people driving...illegal cars.
Like, is that not FUCKING STUPID or what?

Tint too dark, too low, wheels too big on some, modified silencing system (technically illegal), guages/accessories mounted above the highest point of the dash (interfering with drivers vision) etc

I'd like to see ANY modified VE/FG that still meets all the emissions requirements the factory had to.
Pretty much anything post air filter/pre post-cat 02 sensor (if that makes sense) is going to feck up the program.
I reckon I could pick a few more things that would be illegal if you gave me 5 mins with the car.

NSWs have normal lancers as "general duty" cars.
Then again NSW run LPG on alot of there police cars to cut down on costs. And pull people over in Targos and Carnivals.
Up in wodonga, they had a Turbo Terry, then a Golf GTI, then a Forrester, last I seen they were back to a terry.
Nothing surprises me with vicpol. Wait till spring nats we will see em all then

Revengelane (Matt) , BI6TIM and I saw a VW Transporter (I think it was) pulling kents over during indy weekend at the Gold Coast last weekend. Just another courier van driving along then BAM! lit up like a blue and red light disco. Pulling some poor P plater over.
Suckers that's why we left our cars at home that night and took Matt's wife's Camry... sneaky feckers!

One of the first VE SS's I saw on the road was an unmarked cop car. Went past my work with the lights on pulling over a p-plater in a riced magna
Saw that SS around heaps over the next few weeks.
That was a gay non-exciting unmarked cop car story... sorry

A custom plenum hey?
Like switched back to a BA/BF style BBM lower with an aftermarket upper, a nitto/CRD plenum, or did the police drop this car off at *insert name of victorian performance workshop here* and get the boys to hook them up with a fully custom plenum?

Yup sounds right, Christine Nixon gave APS 2x FG XR6T's and a FG Typhoon and told them to make em runs 11's no matter what the cost, the 300kw would have been the run in tune. In the next few months they're getting built bottom ends/trans and they'll go for 9's to catch all the mega quick cars on princes.

The only police cars Iv ever herd being "modified' power wise are the operation dragright/safe cars.

Yea exactly. People always crap on about how the cops have this and that. Fkn rarely do they produce any kind of evidence.

SOME cop cars, not most.
Mainly because the turnover of police cars are huge, they dont keep them long at all.

Cordia running 16psi still wouldn't go anywhere, stock is 9psi and its still not much power.
