As per topic, few guys watched a certain Green Turbo EL XR6 run under a 10 tonight.
Some of you might remember ages ago, it used to be supercharged and ran healthy 10's all day... Now it's been converted to turbo (apparently)...
Fastest street(ish)e-series in Australia?

This the one with the motec, had slide throttle and the big sprintex on it with w2a cooler on bbm yeah?

I'll be surprised if TUFED6 and hiboost don't get there as well, hiboost going 10.7 with the BTR is interesting, may end up being one of the quickest BTR equipped cars.
Is that EL XR caged?

Pretty sure it is caged etc. as it has been running 10s for a while now. Don't know if it would have the extra gear required for 9s though.

Also it is an XR6, too used to typing xr8. Also his tow car is a supercharged EL XR8. HE has class.

He had a pair of runs last night. Didn't manage to catch either of them on film. Got a few happy snaps though (will be up on the weekend).

The guy is surprisingly laid back and happy to talk about his car considering the times it runs. The thing looks so sedate. There isn't anything blingy about his engine at all. It's intense watching him take it down the strip. His mate has an XF turbo as well that is good for mid 10s I think.

He won't be back down there until he has the full cage, chute & ANDRA approval etc.

Those items, yes, but the interior is still all there and complete. It hasn't been stripped down... yet (can only assume this will come one day)

Yes. This was the supercharged EL XR6. It was a daily driver running stock bottom end when it was doing 10s.

Awesome car indeed.

Also runs a powerglide with transbrake. Even his mate with the Turbo XF ute was going hard, he ran 10.7 earlier during the day (test and tune) and reeled off a 12.6 and doing alot of that pass sideways.

what steering rack would he be running? would be a heavy pig if it was factory minus the pump

would think it serious weight reduction to get that 1/4 time.
the mock ea etc are a lighter car, and they are scraping to get roughly the same times stripped.
stock weight it would be looking at up around 700fwkw to get a time like that.
