Street Fords magazine is proud to announce that Roy Velardi, Editor of Street Fords and Xtreme Fords magazine has secured nothing less than the sole production Calypso Green XA GT-HO Phase 4 for an exclusive three-part feature!

Yes, that’s right, the car owned by The Dentist, the car no-one has seen in public since it was last photographed for sale at Bob Lahood motors on Parramatta Road back in the early ’80s.

To say that I am over the moon is a gross understatement. I have known the owner for a while through my cousin who used to spanner on the Phase 4 back in the day and recently we got talking about the possibility of one day bringing the car out to the public for all to see via the magazine.

Stay tuned to Street Fords for updates as we prepare our three-part series on the rarest production muscle car ever produced in this country!

It is with the owner’s permission that I have included a never-before-seen photo of the car just after it was bought. No I'm not going to show you current pics you will just have to wait and see!

Note this is a photo of the car still wearing its incorrect shade of green paint known as Zircon Green. It’s now in it's final stages of restoration, with some finishing touches being completed and we will be bringing you the full story about its history including previous owners interviewed, its restoration, how it performs on the road (yes, I have already driven it several times!) plus more!

This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the Ford community, so stay tuned as it all unfolds in the months ahead!

A brief intro much the same as this post will be in Street Fords 48 and Xtreme Fords 10.

The articles (3 of them) will start appearing next year...

Hang on wasnt there 4 made in total ?
3 were production race cars and one road .
Im guessing this is the road one.
I believe one of the racing ones is in qld

There has been heaps (literally hundreds of pages) dedicated to the Phase 4 story in Australian Muscle Car magazine. They de-bunked a lot of folk-lore about them. There's 3 race cars, this green road-spec one and a Hardtop built to Ph4 specs, but only with a GT compliance plate.

Beautiful car, though Im a tad confused, isnt owning a street ford about having a car that gets driven on the street regularly? Or does having a rwc count for the same thing? Dont get me wrong, I'll be the first to read it.

Just thought I'd update you on when Part Two on the Phase IV is being released.

Issue 66 out on the 7th April features a 16 page special on the restoration of the car and also an engine dyno shootout on the Phase III and Phase IV engines.

According to my sources... this thing was getting work done at my mechanics the day i was meant to pick up my car. My dad was there earlier when she was there, arsehole didnt call me and tell me to come up early to see it. Spewing. Got told some good storys about it though

love the phase falcons pure aussie built perfection

would love to see some details of the xf ( brockbuster ) 4wd twin turbo prototype, this car was well beyond its time !!

damn shame the xf didnt make production , however there is a guy in wa ??? whom found the original car and is currently restoring it from the ground up? do you guys have any details on the car/rebuild?

yeah i have the mag , also have complete twin turbo manifolds/turbochargers dump pipes but no intercooler ;(

Yes I remember chatting to your Dad that day and he did mention his sons would love to be here to see it.

This is once I told him what it was when he asked if it was a genuine GT.

I told him to take a good hard look at the car as he would most likely never be this close to it again!

He was in the right place at the right time :cool:
