Well driving to uni today, came off the freeway ramp about to turn left, there was a guy infront, and i was checking for any traffic, it was all clear so he decided to go and then suddenly stop for i dont know what reason.. i followed through and hit him in the arse end
Was lookng forward to a good weekend, but thats gone down the fizzler. Atm just want to get the other guys car sorted, and then ill see what i want to do with mine, dont no if its repairable or not, and quite frankly i dont even know if i want to repair it.. just had it kinda thing with this car. The quarter seemed to have copped most of the damage, aswell as the indicator, bonnet is slightly damaged and it seems theress a crease in the engine bay

Looks like it will buff out.

yeh lol, it was only 8000km from hitting the million :S and i only needed the car to last me till mid next year, but its put a spanner in the whole works.. Anyone have a rough estimate of what that would cost to fix?

Hey mate, I've got a front left guard you can have for nothing if you can be stuffed removing it. It's got a few dints/minor scrapes, but it'd be good with a bit of bog.

polish the bar
replace the indicator
replace the guard

drive it

Yer, i dont think the headlight is busted, looks alright.. im prety sure if i got a new front bar, indicator and quarter panel itd be alright, excusing the big ass crease in the bay. Just temporarily i guess. Thing is i only had 3rd party on it, and i hit a VY commodore, although he only copped a broken light and dinted/scratched bumper, + dent in rear quarter, my excess is gunna be like $1500.

Nah it happened at 9 am this morning, left the car where it happened coz the tyre was touching the metal, went to uni, and then drove it home, around that time, prolly wouldve seen me driving i back..

Won't take much to do a tempo fix on it. Just a new guard and indicator. Depends how good you want it to look.

The crease is the worst part of it all, you can tell the headlight's moved back half an inch. Looks VR/VS spec. That'll be a bitch to pull out, and without it the guard etc won't line up unless it's all packed with washers or missing nuts and shit.

BTW I've had near misses in the circumstances, and some guy hit me from the same driving error while I was in the EL getting off the Eastern freeway. Just put a tiny scratch in my rear bar though, he has his wife to warn him that I had stopped though. Otherwise he would've hit my harder.. written off EL FTW. Then I coulda got another new car!

I ran up the back of a stoner in an 86 corolla in the XR, under the exact same circumstances! Both coming up to a corner turning left, he slowed then accelerated to go, I looked left and saw there was nothing close enough to worry about so I let the brakes off to roll round the corner, and in the split second it took me to look left the 'tard decided he didn't have enough space and hit the brakes.

F'ken idiot, the both of us and the car behind would have been able to easily merge but he was stoned off his brain so he was overcautious.

Sorry to see Rips. Its a shame and as Bomber said "Learn to Drive or stay off the Road" The colour is awesome and wont be check to paint but I think offer the guy cash for the tail light and buy the guard, indicator/headlight and polish the front bar. Dont worry about going through insurance. FTW
