An AU would be easier to make from plaster.
Step 1) Make plaster goop
Step 2) Drop goop on floor. AU shape is created.
Step 3) Add pink food dye and Monaro scoops.

You need to make little plaster conrod and block pieces to put on the ground behind it to help it look more like a real boosted AU.

That sounds expensive. Especially after rebuilding the internals to factory specs.

I've only made ones out of plaster so far, which takes about 24 hours.
Planning on using a resin or something to create stronger ones.

Could you make a mold and do one out of fiber glass, or is that just way too complicated? If so, I can imagine it would hold together pretty good? Awesome job on it anyway! Will look sweet with a lick of paint!

fibreglass would be a pain to get the detail in the mould.
fibreglass resin however would work.
thats what i'm looking at.
You can get Resin XY's and stuff.

Your a man of many talents John

I reckon with enough practice, you could make some decent cash out of them. They would make great prezzies!

That is extremely impressive! How do you actually go about making one? Just make a rough mould and then shape it properly by hand or what?

i had a model to start with, so i made a mould of the original (and kinda made a mess of the original)
but now that i've got the base shape to work with its getting converted back to standard looks.

looks UNREAL good stuff john.
you should get a remote controle nitro car they are so fun,you could get a white ef body for it,or you could make a body for it and have a cooler in the mouth, would be cool,i just got a body for my car and they are just like a clear vacume mould and you spray them on the inside and then put stickers on the outside they look greate.
if ya want pics of them i can send ya them

my plan is to modify the model to look like a base model fairmont.
then make addons, like tickford kits etc to give me the ability to make optioned up fairmonts, XR's etc.
ultimately i'd like to make them as custom orders, but first i need to make something stockish to work from.
they will end up for sale if i can get it to work properly!
