NC fairlane or EB2 ghia...

Postby misk » January 29th, 2009, 11:53 pm

well my EA pooed itself and the cops handed me a nice yellow piece of paper, all of which will cost more than the EA is worth to fix

so im willing to give ford a second chance as the EA was a bit of a bad choice for a daily lol

ive got an option between a white EB2 fairmont ghia and a black NC fairlane
both are auto 4l on dual fual, both in good clean stock condition...

is it as tuff a choice as im thinking it is? lol
i fkn love the pimpness that the fairlane could bring, but am worried it will be too big and sluggish
i know its not a sports car, but still dont wanna feel like im driving a tank haha, even though the ea had shit power, i love to hang the ass out where possible, and am thinking that will be a no go in the fairlane
so guess im after some advice from ppl that have owned/driven one

the only real difference between the 2 that i can think of is the extra boot space and the outside panels
is the interior space any different, or am i missing any other features?

I'd be getting the Fairmont Ghia if I were you since its the highest luxury Falcon you could buy at the time (excluding the EB GT of course) whereas the NC Fairlane is more of a just a entry level luxury car. If the EB is has leather I would just get that one depending on price/condition.

id go the EB, as serial_fool said its got leather and whatever else the ghias come with, and im guessing the Eb would go better if power concerns you, but a black fairlane would look tuff :D

lol saying the black fairlane looks tuff doesnt really help :p

well will have to see really

the guy with the white ghia wants to sell it asap, so he wont even take a 25% deposit from me and let me pick it up on thursday, he just wants to sell it to the first person that has the cash ready...

and the guy with the black fairlane, well i cant get onto him to find out if the cars even for sale anymore lol

Is it a NC1/2
It's not worth getting a Fairlane unless it's a Ghia

Do you park your cat alot/drive people around heaps.
Fairlane has plenty of room but is harder to park and arse always hangs out of parks!

go the fairmont ghia for sure

same features less car less weight

i only like the ltds in the long wheel base cars
70mm t/b and maf, extractors and exhaust, 2500 stall, stage 2 shift kit, ultra lows, pioneer/clarion stereo.

soon to be 347...

Fairlane's aren't that big man, don't be too put off by it.

They can still be thrown around, and if anything the lwb makes it more entertaining! As for power, yeah they're a little more sluggish, but I wouldn't call it a big difference.

Fairlane's are as a general rule pretty unloved cars though, so when it comes time to sell, a Fairlane will be harder to offload than a Fairmont.

I would say 90% of people on here if blindfolded, placed in a fairmont or ltd/fairlane and went for a drive would notice the weight, handling and length difference in the two.
My car is set up totally wrong for the GOR (standard front springs & pedders red shocks, ultra low rears) and still can motor along and have fun in the twistys.

yeah it is
there was a fairlane advertised a a while ago for $1500, but im sure hed take $1200

and the guy on CT with the ghia is willing to take $800 without the stereo, ive got a pic of it and it seems decent and does have 2 months reg, but 100% stock lol
he was a bit weird about it though, i asked to go see it and he wouldnt let me view it without having the cash lol
was a bit hard for me to sell my car without knowing what the other car was like
but i really had to sell the EA and it sold withint 12 hours of the ad being on the net, got $750 for it haha so im rapped!
