Hey all, this has been annoying me all afternoon. After seeing the thread that lukey made about the cars in the barn, it reminded me of something I saw on AFF ages ago about a car manufacturing plant somewhere overseas. It was completely abandoned and there were still cars on the production line, and brand new cars everywhere. It was on a forum, something like Urban Explorer or something like that.
I was searching google for fecking ages, but I couldn't remember the country and manufacturer of the cars so it was hard and I failed.
Anyway if you know what I am talking about and can find the link for me you win a magnificent prize. Prize will be announced once i'm linked up.
k thanx by.

Amazing.
I guess when the company went bankrupt they just downed tools and the administrators are still fighting it out in court. I guess all the tooling etc will eventually get sold off to pay off debts etc.

I'd love to see how it looks today. Those photos were taken about 7 months ago.
Did anyone notice the name and phone number on the white board in the office area ?

Those pics are rather eerie. I've done a fair bit of shutdown work at Ford, GMH and Toyota and you get that same feeling that everything just stopped where it was and everyone just vanished, after being inside all 3 plants while they have been running then coming back to nothing, just still, a very weird feeling indeed. Due to the tight restrictions on cameras in these sights I can't bring you any pics. I'd have loved to just to show how weird it feels but it just aint worth risking your job over it.
Not that it matters now as I dont work for anyone that works in there nowadays but glad I experienced it.
Xmas shutdown at Ford is always weird when you walk in its so quiet all the cars in various states of assembly on the line lights flashing to say gates have been opened and things have stopped
then there is the line up of shells with all hang on panels, painted with light plastic covers over them.
thats my 2 cents to add anyways

yeah Kev it is definitely weird. How about that smashed up Mini? at end of one of the tunnels. How the **** did it get like that.
John - Yeah Terry Venables.
If I could have gone through there I would have got the keys too all the cars and ripped heaps of skids. The smoke would have made it even more eerie. lol Seriously though weird shit FTW, I explored many an abandoned building when I was a young dope smoking teen. Good times good times! There are a few buildings in Ringwood that are still accessable and date back to the days of the Ringwood blacks. Police seem to give upo after a while.

max msn me kent.
I live about 5 minutes away from John Farnhams old house and studio which was abandoned many years ago. Gotham Audio was the name of the studio. We used to have piss ups at John Farnhams house and even slept the night there once. 7 bedroom house with a pool which was completely abandoned. Lots of his belonging were still in the house too, including furniture, letters and bills etc.The swimming pool was geeen and had a wire mesh over it so no one fell in. That **** must have struck it pretty damn ritch to just leave a house and studio like that.
Anyway some little **** decide to smash the shit out of the studio causing about 40k damage (smashed all the sound proof glass) and the houses were sold and renovated and an estate was developed around them. He still lives in wonga park afaik, his son used to pick on my brother at school, don't bame him lol.
Good times.
This was about 8 years ago BTW. lol

wow thats really kool, donno if id brave walking around there on my own tho
when we were out in between northern territory and south Australia near cooper peedy, my old man took us down this long dirt road, at first it was a road then it was just nothing, prity much driving over bushes and junk, till suddenly we got to this old station that used to missile testing ground of something, was just a dead zone now, but it was a massive station, had satellites, generators, garages, lookout tower, old school rusted up cars, parently it was used to just test missiles for australias army, for the life of me i cant remember where it is, was probly 12 at the time, but it is listed on a map as a massive red space saying "goverment land"
nice find

Joe ask your old man, I think I know what you are talking about. It's cool seeing stuff that probably hasn't been looked at in years.
