EA Falcon Identification help

Postby Fixittogetithome » March 13th, 2009, 1:32 pm

Hello Guys,

I'm new to the forum and have a question:

I live in the US but have a 1989 EA Falcon that I got when I was on a trip to Melbourne...unfortunately it is still there. I would like to get this car imported to the US, however, I need some documentation to do so. In addition to proof of ownership, I have to get a build sheet or at least some form of production verification from the manufacturer. I also need to determine how many of these cars were made in this configuration (ie. Blue w/ Grey cloth, 5 speed manual, 3.9 EFI, S package). I would be hugely greatful for any help you can offer.

Thanks,
Matt

Call Ford Australia 133673 and ask for a verification letter when you get through to Ford Information Services (FIS). You would have to put the +61 area code in from plus the international dialling code from your area.

They can also provide you with some sort of idea of how many of them were built, however they cannot advise you of the number built with that specific trim or colour - as those records are not kept (I used to work for them).

You can call Vicroads on 131171 to get a rego slip sent to you if the car is still registered. This is not a proof of ownership though, it's merely a certificate of registration with the registered operator's details on it (I work for Vicroads currently.. lol).

For Sunny's numbers listed, I'm guessing you need to add either +61 (Australian international code) or +613 (Victorian specifically?) to the start.

Driving around the US in an EA would be sick. Shipping in parts when it needs to be repaired would suck.

Thanks alot guys, I'll keep you posted with how it goes. I'd love to get this car to the US and with a little work, show the Mustangs and Camaros how it should be done.
