WRONG! in a way..
If you got your license BEFORE jul 07 you are on power to weight ratio
if you got your license AFTER jul 07 you are on NO turbo NO superchargers NO V8, Excluding some vehicles.

Im planning to go to the moon in 2013.

Well it depends how you look at it, you will be boosting the economy up by million's, but make sure you buy Australian made!

I'm with Holmsy.
unless you get it fully engineered, it's not a legal modification to your car anyway. if you want to do it, then do it, but be ready to cop any consequences on the chin regardless of license state.

Yeah well it will be installed at home so not leagally.
I see alot of vlt's and 5ltr around on p's.
And I guess as long as I give em nothing to pull me over for, I'll be right.
If never been pulled over yet.

If you go ahead with it, do it all as stealth as possible - black cooler, keep the lower grill mesh, no big blingy rims, paint all the cooler piping black etc.
Try and get a low mount turbo as well, maybe a log manifold with a 45 degree flange for the turbo, could then hide it a bit easier with heatshield or something.
If you move the battery to the boot (as you should), do a proper job of an airbox for the pod.
But having said that, be prepared to be raped if you get stung for it, and pull it all off.

Yeh those are all good points.
I'd be installing it behid the stock bar and definatly will still have the ftrs.
If got a fair while to decide anyway, thanks for the help.
Shane. (:

According to vicroads' site arrivealive.vic.gov.au ...
From this date (july 07) a probationary licence holder cannot drive a vehicle if it has:
An engine of eight or more cylinders;
a turbocharged or supercharged engine (except diesel powered vehicles);
an engine that has been modified to increase its performance; and/or
any of the following high performance six cylinder vehicles as published below (some expensive cars that no p plater could afford)
Not sure if thats just vic or all states with red/green p's
i was bummed out too, hasnt stopped me or anyone else i know tho.
Source:
http://www.arrivealive.vic.gov.au/initi ... if_yo.htmlEDIT: thought id add this in aswell from the same page,
Penalties
From 1 July 2007, the penalty for driving a high powered vehicle will be three demerit points and a maximum fine of approximately $1100. These penalties will apply to both the current power to weight restrictions and the new high powered vehicles restrictions.

worst thing about boosting on p's is that its considered unlisenced driving so u will viod ur insurance.

Dont be a pussy, just do it. Just make sure you do a good job of it all. And dont be a dickhead and attract the cops.
Basically dont give the reason for the cops to book you. Ive had cops pull me over for RBT and have ended up talking to them for like 30min about my car and the things ive done and have even had some cashie jobs come out of it lol...
EDIT: By the way im not on my P's anyway. But even when I was there is no restirctions on what you can drive here in the ACT.

if you got your p's before the new shit came in. so are now on your greens
there shouldnt be anyone with green p's with the new rules yet i dont think. hence why i said it.
then you are still allowed v8 and turbos etc as long as the car is under the power to weight ratio. (so go by the old rules)
so basically you are allowed to drive a turbo so your license is safe in that respect. but your car isnt allowed to be turbo'd (without proper certs n shit)
so can take the same consequences as any p or full licensed person would.
and as you said darkphenoix. if you dont give them a reason to annoy you you should be right (around here anyway)
i drive around in a bright red xr8 with 19's on front and stockies on the rear. on its ass. exhaust chopped at the diff with p plates shown. and i am definatly not afraid to put the boot in.
and i have never been pulled over for no good reason. and havent got a single fine yet.
one cop pulled me over in my ed one day for aparantly putting the boot in around a round about. he even said to me. tone it down a bit and cops wont take a second look at you. and sent me on my way.

I haven't seen P Platers with decent cars in a long time. Went to the "drags" last week and it was freakin shithouse before a couple of tuff cars rocked up and did some skids - they weren't P Platers. Before the skid cars rocked up the place was full of 4 cylinder shitters and VR/VS's.
V8/Turbo/Other sick car and P Plates are now pretty much mutually exclusive. You do it and you get fukd over pretty quick.

really clearly i dont pay attention. didnt think i had had green plates for that long? didnt green plates only come in last year?
i havent seen any lack of half decent p plater cars around here. but compared to melb geelong cops are pretty relaxed about that shit.
