Anyone else using this shiz? I find it works better than the top of the range Mobil, Shell and BP fuels. Might just be my car, but it works pretty decent IMO.

I used Vortex 98 religiously for about 2 years, never had a drama. Always found it good, but there is a fair bit of negative press about Caltex fuels. I think it's more to do with the 91 octane stuff.

How does it work better? Does your car ping on any of the other 98's? I think the Caltex and BP share the same refinery or some shit. When i got my engine build, old mate said he only uses Ultimate or Vortex

I use the Mobil Synergy8000 as instructed by Paul after the tune and it works fine.
It was pinging on the BP ultimate fuel, not sure why or how, but it was.

Basically just use what ever you get your car tuned on. A couple of us here have had unfortunate experiences with Shell. I just stick with Ultimate as that's what it was tuned on. Got one of my first motors tuned on shell. Filled up after the tune and blew the motor haha

Mobil high octane: makes my car run like shit!
Vortex: run's good and gets better k's- i use this pretty much everyweek
BP ultimate: makes it a little quicker and runs abit smoother but gets less k's(and when i say quicker i dont mean skating 4th on the limiter on a 40 degree day)
But overall you cant beat 7/11 E10*
*This is a lie, its really shit and never use it....EVER.

United E10 octane 100
My car runs better on this than any other fuel. Smoother, more power, better fuel economy.

In Perth it doesn't matter what fuel you use all comes from the one refinery. BP and Shell share the same refinery on Millers rd in Melbourne.
Liberty, United, Apco and other independents buy off who ever is cheapest.

I put whatever 98 octane fuel I am passing at the time I need fuel, I find no noticeable difference between any of the various brands. As far as how the car runs and performs that is. I don't count ks to a tank though so that could be a difference that I am missing.

Vortex was originally only a 95 Octane fuel, claimed to have more cleaning agents than typical 95. I have long used BP 98 for the very technical reason that the servo is nearby.

Whether there's any difference to speak of between 98 Octane fuels I don't know, but I might give Vortex 98 another go.

Most tuners recommend Ultimate. I've gotta admit my car does seem to like it a bit more than the other 98s. I usually use V power because the servo is close by and I can use my Coles dockets to save some $$$

But yeah, never had a problem with Vortex either. When I worked in Bayswater I used to fill up with that stuff all the time on the cnr Liverpool and Canterbury.

thats pretty much what i do, except i try not to use shell for the simple reason that i hate them, there is always a cue to get petrol and they have shit customer service. i dont notice too much of a difference with them.

I have always used Mobil 8000 myself. My old car was tuned on it, so i just stick with what i know. I went over to Shell V Power stuff for a short period, and to be honest couldn't tell a difference at all. This was in the 6 NA, have only ever put Mobil in the V8.

I've put Vpower/shell 98 and bp ultimate through mine, both seem to make it rip ballz big time.
