I'm a V8 Wanker

So, last week i offloaded my old XY Fairmont that i bought in 2004, drove for 3 weeks then put it in dad's shed. I sold it for a tidy 367% profit and all it did was gather dust and cobwebs.
So, today i went looking at some car dealers. I was going to be buying another XY Fairmont that's a 351/c6/9in combo freshly painted in Nugget Gold and all that, however the wife has suggested i look at something newer and more practical
I have a BA mkII wagon company car and its ok i suppose, just a family/work hack thats fairly nice to drive compared to the old van I had. I thought i'd want a 6 speed auto XR6T and i got to drive one, however i drove it after this

Its a 05 BA mkII super pursuit, 6 speed man with all the bits. done 50 000ks. Came with a john bowe exhaust, 20in mags, brembos and all that. Have to say, it was lots of fun. Had all the traditional driveline clunks of an old school car, engine i thought was rather 'cammy' sounded fantastic and handled pretty well, a little nose heavy but not as bad as what I thought it would be. These boss motors are pretty doughy down low but come 3000rpm they really haul arse. I wanted to sign up on the dot however they couldn't do a deal with my hilux as a trade that i was happy with, and the price they were asking was too high by a few grand (asking 39k drive away)
so then i took a 11/05 BF XR6T, 6 speed auto, leather, premo brakes, menace in colour and done 60k for a strap. Straight away it felt more like my work hack than the pursuit, the seats were shocking in comparison, it just felt like a much cheaper car. Driving it around felt like any other falcon, although i must admit it was a lot quieter and tighter than any BA i have been in. The 6 speed auto is excellent. But to be honest all i felt was i was in a bullshit fast taxi. I'd love to take a 300rwkw one for a belt but to be honest i think i'd still be let down by the fact its just one quick falcon, and nothing else. I'm going to have a drive of a F6 next weekend to see if that becomes a happy medium but to be honest, im leaning towards a boss powered car. Probably a GT or GT-P, ute's are mad just not 100% practical when kids come along
or i'll be buying that other XY and a EL XR6 hack and enjoy a car that hasn't and wont depreciate faster than the government is borrowing money.
