Hi all,

Thought i'd introduce myself, my name is Giovanni (Italian for John btw haha), i'm currently 17 and on my Ls (get my Ps next year, can't bloody wait), some of yous my recongise my user name as i am on a couple of other forums as well. Although i'm mainly into older falcons, i am a big fan the ohc inline sixes and drive line in late model falcons. I currently have two projects on the go:

My daily driver 1979 XC Falcon, 4.1 crossflow with 4 speed single rail on dual fuel, factory raw orange and chamois trim, lowered, whiteline swaybars, new bushes (handles like it's on rails), A/C, P/S, Full GXL interior that has just be trimmed, 15 inch globes.

Plans is to do a 4.0l conversion using an AU motor, AU t5 bell housing matched to a E series t5 box and a 3.45 LSD. All in all it should make for an awesome P plate machine that will hammer unlike the gutless crossflow setup it currently has.

My other project is a 1978 XC Fairmont GXL, factory V8, currently undergoing a full ground up resto, long term project this one.

Hey John!
Love GXL's with the square headlights Yeah!!
Looks like you are starting off at quite a high level of quality, i'm jealous!!
Most of my early cars were a hell of a lot rougher than these show cars!!
Do you have any pics of rust spots to make me feel better? LOL!!!!!

Very nice,
Sparksy.

Thanks mate, the GXL will be getting the sqaure lights, even got a NOS one for it! I try my best with the money constraints and learn as i go. As far as rust spots both are very clean cars with piss all rust, the GXL had a bit in the lower rear 1/4s and boot sill but has all been properly repaired and i got the panel and paint done 2 years ago. The orange falcon has had a closed respray around 5 years or so and only has a tiny bit of rust in the LHF door and RH lower rear 1/4 so almost rust free. I have thoroughly rustproofed both of them so rust is not a worry at all :)

I like the quad light front, but each to their own. They still look tough either way because they are such a tank of a car
