Jamie - ED XR6

Postby JamieEDXR6 » February 4th, 2008, 8:34 pm

Hi All, have recently bought an ED XR6 with a bit done to it by the previous owner. hoping to get my stuff together and build up a nice car over the next few years.

As far as I know it's currently got; a full JMM dev3HL head, JMM race series headers, 2.5" exhaust and cat, all el gear on the intake side, AU head gasket, EL ecu etc. Nice car to drive, doughy under about 3k, but lifts off all the way to the limiter after that.

Met a few of the Qld'ers on the recent Mt Mee cruise, mine was the Polenesian Green one parked behind 89 AIT at Aspley. Should have known better than to agree to invite the missus and agree to bringing her friends, but you live and learn. (had to leave early, and 4-up in an NA 6 doesn't improve performance or economy... not to mention the self appointed in-car DJ was a 7 year old)

Cheers to everyone for being so welcoming to a stranger, hope to catch you all again in the future.

Jamie

pic's will come in the near future, until then, you can see the arse-end on the Mt-Mee thread (page 7) on fordforums... not much of a shot, but there you go.

if anyone on the cruise happens to read this and have any decent shots of my car, (662 CPW) any chance of posting them?

Fairmont888, yeah, I was. Tell you what, your car's got more stick (or you've got bigger balls) than I thought it (you) would. I wasn't pushing the XR6 that hard, still figured I would have lost you around some of those corners up the mountains, but the silver grill was almost always there. :|

Cheers Tim, was nice to meet you, love your car mate, something to aim for with mine I guess. And to Luke, thanks for taking the time to have a listen to the noise coming from under my car. Haven't worked out what it is, but it's not making the noise anymore.

yeah it is mate, run's well, very sturdy on the road, almost no rattles or squeaks, 190k on the clock though, so it's not really high k's for a 93 model. Had been over a week since I washed it on Sunday, so there was a bit of dust and a few smudges on it. Comes up real nice in the sunlight after a wash and polish, but i think it's a respray. Few little things I worry about when driving, although it hasn't let me down yet. I need to look after it better than I have since buying it. Think the biggest hurdle is going to be finding the time/money to do routine/preventative maintenance and cleaning when needed.
