Postby efman » July 10th, 2009, 2:41 pm

Hi
I just joined boosted falcon, great forum for ford lovers
I am on my l's and i own a ef falcon wagoon, it is on gas
It is pretty straight hasn't been in any major crashes, only one minor crash in like 1997
I have started modifying it with my dads help.
I have already spent a bit on it, xr6 xr8 ef el mags, new pioneer head unit and pioneer speakers soon to be pioneer amp and sub or two
I am hoping to lower it 2" as well as adding a camber kit too it in the next month and as well as replacing the radiator
The paint of it is quite good (except for a few minor marks) for its age as it has been polished and washed quite often
If you have any ideas for, on what else to do to it
It is an auto and i wont be changing it( too much time and money to convert)
Image
I will take some more pics of it in the next few months as i modify it
Thanks for all your support and ideas

Hey mate welcome to the forums, When you lower it take the mudflaps off.
As or future ideas, maybe a catback exhuast and dark tint would make it look and sound good.

Looks pretty clean too

Dont worry, everyone has to start somewhere. You are lucky to even have a car of your own on your Ls and being at school. Good luck with it, I am sure you will get inspiration from people on here, quite a few wagons popping up now.

Welcome to the wagon club!! If you have enough coin, get a Natrad radiator, usually around $200 for a 38mm core :)

I suggest taking it to Pedders, they made my wagon height mint. Also, leave the flaps on, they wear down after a while :P

thanks man, Phillis's is pretty awesome also, you should check it if you haven't already. Just goes to prove that wagons can be sexy. But Phillis is right about once u start you can't stop...but a good start is lowering it, exhaust and some extractors(mine are coming soon)...pretty basic but i think it makes the wagon a nice cruiser, and you have to have a good system in it too... I mean what else are you going to use all that space for lol :good:

Re: EF WAGON

Postby gerbzjen » July 11th, 2009, 11:58 am

The system setup was done by Phatt Audio Concepts, they are in Braeside, Victoria...so probably a bit out of your way lol.
yep they are amps on the side, the left one is a Mono Block powering both the subs, and the right one is a 4 Channel Amp that is not currently powering anything, but have been thinking about hooking one of the subs up to it to see if i cant get a bigger bass sound...not that it isn't big enough, but yeah we'll see.
I bought it tinted, very nice and dark. I'm sure there would be a place up your way that would do similar stuff. The mags are the same as yours man, 16" FTR's I took them from my previous ED Fairmont Sedan...thinking about getting something bigger though. And yes, It has been lowered 2 inches.
Good luck with yours man, so much potential with so much time :drinks2:

1) go to autobard, buy nightshade
2) go home.
3) open tailgate, get newspaper and masking tape and mask around the entire light
4) spray
5) repeat however many times you want, depending on darkness
6) let dry
7) remove newspaper
8) close tailgate
9) drive

theres a fine line between 'different' and 'crap'. IMO leds and neons fall into the latter of the 2.

mabye a ghia interior? if you really wanna try something different put a BA or AU dash into it :P

Changing black bits like mirrors, side strips & bumper strips, numberplate garnish, to the same colour as the rest of the wagon

I doubt your going to be able to get much in the way of a full exhaust sytem (with extractors) for $250. Look to pay just over that for a 2nd hand pair. I paid just over $1k for mine.

A high flow cat is slang for a catalytic converter. its kinda like a filter right after your headers or extractors that removes all the bad stuff before your car spits it out the exhaust into the atmosphere. the hi-flow part just means its a bigger diameter or it breathes easier than a standard one.

IMO, leave the garnish as is and try some things that commando guy mentioned. getting some paint made up the same color as your car and spray side strips, the number plate garnish, side mirrors. that black strip that runs around the car- try painting that the same color as the rest of the car, or a different color all together

You could always keep an eye out for a Cardinal Red EF Fairmont wagon to pinch bits like moulds, garnish, mirrors etc from.

Just go for a cat-back exhaust for now, can always add extractors + cat later on when you have the money.

"gerbzjen"...........How does your redback exhaust sound on the wagon? I am going to get rid of my "bitsa  " 3" and get a new 2.5" but I still want to hear it.

Dave, we put a redback exhaust on Beths brothers EF wagon, sounded pretty good :)
