Return to the Blue Oval

Hi all,

Just a quick introduction for everyone so they know where i'm coming from.

I bought my first E-series just after my 15th birthday (saved up for years, paid $4000), it was one of my bosses cars: 1988 EA S-pack, bog stock with 170,000km caring km's on it. It was in really good nick, and came with a rear louvre, HD tow bar, HD clutch and a few other nice little accessories. I drove that car until about 2003. During ownership i had it lowered, got an exhaust, ran a turbo on it for about 6 months just before i sold it. It was a fantastic car - sometimes i wish i still had it. :cray: It did great skids, and had heaps of torque. I ended up selling it for $4000 - so no real loss there either!

After the EA, i owned several 4x4's (2 patrols and a Sierra) as you don't tend to get as many speeding fines in them.

My current "collection" consists of:
- Datsun 180B sedan, turboed and intercooled
- GQ wagon, TD42 turbo
(I'm also into dirt/enduro bikes)

My most recent purchase is a 1991 EB Fairmont with a 302W and auto.......

It doesn't have any flash/special options, i mainly bought it because its on gas, V8 can tow the bike trailer, cruise and climate control are good for my daily commute to work. The car only has 220km on it, and the previous owners were old people (it still smells of old people :geek: ).

Since that pic, i've put superlows in, and removed the mud flaps. Next thing is a 3" exhaust, replace the Impco 225 with a 425, and window tint. It also has a 2.5" exhaust from the previous owner, but its not loud enough. I want to keep the car fairly stock as i already have plenty of other money pits (cars!) to maintain.

Cheers,

Coxy

Nice chop!! I do have a set of speedy geforce 18's, but they're not really my thing. I'm looking at getting a set of 16" Sprint or SVO's.

Now, all of the cars i mentioned are built by me - no fancy workshops or big budget builds for me, however i'm not a dodgy backyarder. My mate has a workshop that he lets me use, and he is also a grease monkey by trade, so he helps out with ideas etc too.

This is the Datto, about half way through the build:
- Nissan T3 internal gate - HKS cast manifold - Modified Holley intake manifold - Gas Research TB - Impco B2S converter (13mm balance) - FMIC - 2.5" exhaust from turbo flange back, 1 dual pass muffler - All piping and exhaust done by me - Mixture of King/Monroe/Pedders/Nolathane suspension

This is the GQ on the latest trip, recovering a Hilux from the Vic high country:
- Too many mods to list, however i have done the turbo conversion by myself (there's a build thread on outerlimits4x4 forum)

This is one of my earlier 4x4 projects:

And just to keep this sort-of on the topic of Fords, this is my old mans stock mint XW Fairmont wagon:

Enjoy!
