Hows it goin

Postby BarraEL » September 10th, 2010, 8:09 pm

hey guys im jamie and my ride is based in adelaide :)

My ride is a 1998 5 speed el xr6. Ive recently just spent $6800 on the engine, it now has a ba mk2 xr6 turbo engine in it and the conversion was carried out by heinrich performance. The engine is pretty much stock but has a custom tune which makes 260rwkws. Its running a standard low k t5 which will do the job for now, the diff is being tightened up in 2 weeks and after that i am getting the UPC brake upgrade for the front. After that will put some 18inch bf cobra copy wheels on it in white, then susspension and exhaust.

Anyway heres some pics of my ride and am glad to be on this fourum :)

Umm im getting the aircon hooked up in a few weeks...that will cost me $250 and to fit the engine under the bonnet he just ovaled out the engine mount bolt holes and just a lil bit of panel beating on the bonnet bracing and thats it mate :)

Anymore pics or info on it? skid pics?

If you have the exhaust manifold heat shield it might pay to put that on, should get some heat away from the pipework etc.

Using stock instrument cluster? will it be engineered? who is going to insure it? Sorry about all the questions but I'm thinking about opening the cheque book and stop dicking about with SOHC.

1 more question, They supplied the engine and ensured it was a good one?

Thanks mannn :) yeh i like it as a sleepa for the moment :P umm the only other pics i got is when they were taking the old engine out and putting the new one in....so i might have to make a build post with info and pics maybe??

Aint got any skid pics yet, cause its my daily and dnt wanna risk doing the diff or gearbox untill i get them all nice and strong. Yeh i just got the stock manifold and turbo shield the other day from the wreckers that cost me $68....will fit that on me next day off when i have time.

yeah using the stock instrument cluster...just gotta get the tacho working , every other gauge works ummm in the future it will get engineered but aint in a hurry to do so......its already insured with Just Car, costing me only $8 more than when i had the el motor in it.........

They supplied the engine yes, i think he said it only had 40,000 ks on it.....its a ba mk2 xr6 turbo engine.

All good about all the questions man i dont mind
