Lowering thread: http://www.eafalcon.com/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=144

And then there's a couple ways you can do it imo.. Head down to Pick-a-part in Kilsyth, find some springs floating around down there (Which is what I'm planning to do with-in the next week because I'm a pov ****. $16 a spring :o ) and do it all yourself, or head over to Pedders in Lilydale and see what's goin on, that should be local enough. Probably expencive but ya never know until you go see it yourself and I figure it'd be done properly. http://www.pedders.com.au/storeFinder/1/store56 Ask some questions, maybe someone'll help you out..

People struggle to give away springs these days, I've thrown out about 3 sets and left a couple under my old house :P Stuff paying $16 a corner if you're going to do it 'that' way. ;) Didn't know there was a Pedders in Lilydale, that handy to know. :)

so you can get diferent springs without changing the shocks? will that wreck the shocks? and are they hard to do yourself im hopeless with self modding lol

lol, I've never done it myself, but it should be a good learnin curve.

Can't be too hard can it? Jack it up, start playing around with things. It's only nuts n bolts.

Yeah, it'll **** the shocks after a couple months, and the ride wouldn't be as smooth as it should be I imagine, so that's next to come after the springs go in.

Ok Damo, got any supers' floating around? I'm happy to drop by and pick a set up ^_^

haha nah man, I meant standard springs that I've chucked out. I thought you were going to get some standard ones and cut them lol. You'd be hard pressed to find some lowered ones at pick a part, but ya never know. ;)

i'd say respray
its sun damage most likely, its kinda bleached the paint from wot i can see
the same happened to my dads old magna so he jus stripped it to bare metal an re sprayed

haha he ended up liking the finish on the bonnet betta than the rest of the car so he re-did the whole thing.
Looked good

you havent seen any good lookin EF's then!

as to lowering ur car- buy ur springs (kings L's or SL's) then find someone on here that lives near u (and knows how to do it) n get them to do it- anyone on here will do it for less than a mechanic.. that way u can watch and learn and save a few $$

anyway its choice

good luck

Kester, check out the bonnet on my EB:

Can't exactly see with that photo you've posted what's wrong, but by the sounds of it, it's the clear starting to come off as a result of sun damage. It's what has happened to mine(mine's a little more extreme no doubt). Re-clearing it will fix it. If the paints been worn, then you'll need a re-spray.

HAha, was wondering why you wanted to give springs way, if I was going to cut any, I'd just cut mine :P There's quite a few EB n EDs down there sitting up on red pedders. Just gotta figure out which ones are what haha Fucking great place that pick-a-part.

i do a 3 step polish on it and it comes up better, not fixed but better, i got qouted 3 and a half g for a full respray, wich sounds a bit steep.

You should be able to get away with just respraying the bonnet. Shouldnt cost more than a couple of hundred to do at a panel shop. Springs arent too expensive either, around $300 for fronts and rears. Rears are pretty easy to do, fronts will be hard without a spring compressor.
Probably good to go with King Springs and Pedders shortened shocks if your on a budget.
Cut springs will get the ideal ride height, the ride wont be too good, but itll look shit hot :)
What are the rims you have on it? They look like BF XR? If so, might want to check that there not using adapters or spacers, not legal either.
Slam it on stockies and futura hubcaps :D

yeh painting the bonnet urself is a much better idea, it'll save you sum cash an give u some experience incase u want to re spray a car again in the future, jus practise practise practise. also remember to get a description on how to do it and what to do incase of common stuff ups an to avoid them and so on.
