EB II Fairmont Ghia, Want to keep original look, but more ba

Hello, I have recently picked up an EB II Fairmont Ghia with the 5.0L Windsor V8.
I have previously owned plenty of EB's, but all with the 4.0 straight sixes.
This recent aquisition is what I consider a good find, as it is a nice shade of green (Not original, was maroon, in the process of a respray), it has decent 17" ROH wheels and has lowered (Tickford, I was told) suspension, which handles very well. Also fitted are sideskirts and bootlid wing (Not GT, don't want GT).
The motor has a considerable amount of k's on it, but I reckon still has a lot of k's left in it. I made the mistake of putting a short ram pod on, as I lost a lot of low range torque.
I was told that if I fit a 75mm throttle, cold air induction, extractors and a 3" exhaust system I would get a considerable power increase, but would I have to do something to the ECU to compensate for these changes?
Also, I don't have a money tree growing in my backyard, nor do I live with my parents.
Is there anything I can do with a moderate budget to give my car a bit more balls on the takeoff?

Change the diff gears to a better ratio.
3.7 would be okay, 3.9's probably better.

It has 253,000 on the clock, but the odometer cog needs replacing, so I'm guessing it has a fair few more km's on it. I'll be putting pics up (hopefully) tonight, around midnight-ish.
In addition, recently the transmission has been slipping into "limp home" mode. It isn't overheating, because the power button doesn't flash on/off and I don't thrash it. I may need help with that too. I called NRMA and a guy came round and reset the ECU, but it didn't work. Any wise words? Note that I work at a waste services place in Marsden Park, so maybe some rocks flew up and hit a sensor or something?

if you wanna reset the ecu for free just disconnect the battery for like 10 mins...
DIff gears also

Yeah that's what the guy did, but it didn't work. I called my old man and he reckons I stressed the box by manually changing it down on steep hills at my work, he said it's the bands or something. But I don't think so because limp home kicks in after about 10 minutes of driving. I guess I'll just wreck my wife's car until I can afford to go to a transmission specialist

UPDATE: GOOD NEWS. I was talking to a sales rep from Tenneco today and she agreed that if I put a few stickers (Carline Mufflers, Lukey, etc.) on my back window, she'll ensure that I get a considerable discount for a 3" Lukey exhaust system :) Now, to get the transmission fixed. Dies anyone know any good transmission places in Southwest Sydney? Or even Western Sydney?

If you have way of getting it I have a 5L auto box out of a eb2 fairmont ghia sitting in my shed in Albury which is bound for the tip as i have converted to manual.. Don't really know the condition of the box as i bought the car not running but the guy who i bought it off said it was nice and smooth when he used to drive it..

Cheers,

Welcome! Get a price on the exhaust first, then see how much of a discount you get :P

Could just be low on fluid if its slipping into LHM?

Yeah, the first thing I checked was the fluid, and it's at a pretty good level. Hopefully I can pick this box up off Nik and sort it out from there

I was reading up on other posts and I saw that in some of these cases it's the inhibitor switch behind the heat shield on the passenger side of the box. I'll be changing this when the weather clears up a bit. Wish me luck and thanks for the advice guys
