Hey Guys! New here and First post!

Postby EL=GHIA » March 13th, 2011, 11:20 am

Hey guys.

My name is Shaun. My nickname is Nackerz. I'm new to the ford scene lol... Always been a Holden fan, Heck I'm even a mechanic at holden lol.

Yes I know, Please don't jump on me! (Runs and hides)

Well, I'm looking at getting a 97 EL Ghia. Dont know much about the fords. If you could help me out a little it will be greatly appreciated. Now the owner says it has the tickford motor. I know that these motors are the better of the 6 cyl fords and thats about it haha..

I am looking at swapping my mildly worked VN 5 litre berlina wagon for it. The EL comes with a rwc but no reg, doesn't bother me as I will just take it to vic roads and get it rego'd.

The guy is coming either later today or early tomorrow to have a look at the wagon and for me to look at the ford.

Here is a couple of pics he has sent me. Hope you all like and can share some thoughts on the car.

Cheers Nackerz

Agreed.

The wood grain is missing on the left door, drives seat looks like the leather hasn't been conditioned since 99.

Post some pics of the wagon so we can compare.

Yeah the wood grain is easy fixed, and so is the drivers seat... Heres some pics of the wagon, not in the best of condition itself besides running gear.... Just rebuilt it

Actually here is the link for ebay lol

Thanks guys, Yeah if the vn was a sedan I prob would of kept it lol...

Well gave her a wash today, didn't come up too bad. Was just a quick wash lol... Wanna do some mods to her and get a little more power haha! Yeah def thinking of a turbo setup. Hopefully I can get it booked in this week and she will be on the road!

Also, What do you guys think its worth, as it sits with a current rwc but no rego??? I have a rough idea, but want to know your thoughts on the subject :D

I know it needs the wood grain piece on the LHF door. And maybe a couple other little things like bonnet struts (They are rooted)

Heres some more pics!

so ur looking at selling it?
it came with a rwc but bonnet struts are rooted?
it is missing the gear surround wood also.
judging by the pics it isnt in very good nick so id say itd be on the low end. value wise.
still a good car to modify and get back upto 100%.
cheers josh.

That's the factory shifter surround, not all were woodgrain. I have the same interior on my EF Ghia and it's the same surround.

Looks pretty good mate, also It maybe be the way the lights shines off the paint, does anyone else think te R/H rear door has been sprayed ?

Maybe get the right dash mat too. Don't know what would happen to a passenger if that airbag went off with that one hanging over it.

The right rear door hasn't been painted, just looks like it from the pics/light/just washed it, still wet.

It has ef tail lights and doesnt look like there is meant to be a woodgrain piece there/missing, so I say it might have a ef surround in it.

Dunno about selling it, however anything is for sale at the right price. If you got offered decent money for your car I bet you would take it.

And i'm into holdens not fords haha, but I wont be driven this anyways! Bonnet struts well they have nothing to do with a rwc.

I was thinking maybe the tickford kit, set of decent wheels.....Yeah dunno yet, will just wait and see
