The new guy ...

Hi all , My name is Matt . Im 33 and live in Nth Qld. I have owned a string of Falcons over the years from XBs to FGs.
Iam a Blue Oval Fan to The Core... Kids and Housing commitments seen me relinquish my toys a few years ago.. Recently however I aquired my "new toy" , an EB SXR8.. It was cheap , stock and aged. I spent 1 Full weekend with the Gerni, Degreaser, Polish and Armour all, bolted on a set of 15" Dragways (like the tough old school strip look--not really a big rim guy) and the below shots are basically how it turned out. The box was shagged so I had local guys rebulid it with some valve body mods , tougher internals and 2800 rpm TCI converter. Threw on a set of pacemakers, high flow cats and 3" exhaust. It sounds great when stabbed but I would like a lumpier idle... My wish list is large haha and includes a 347 stroker but reallity will most likely see a freashen up and an e303 cam. Had no faith in factory guages (Temp and Oil) been caught before so installed some externals about the same time I fitted a Flip DVD screen and some mid level audio components..

The FG is the family car .. I know I will cop flack over the sticker kit .. But the missus wanted them (HAppy wife Happy Life haha) it too has a cat back custom exhaust and has been treated to full lowering kit by pedders and sits on 18" Advantis..

Thanks guys for all the positive compliments.. These photos are from earlier and I will post up some up to date ones on the week end.. Mad Keen , Im in Townsville (The Jewel of the North !!! hahaha)... XR Lightning - MAte awesome avatar .. Massive Metallica fan here. That red EL is sweeet too.
I agree about the rear bag size as well .. However every local Tyre Joint tells me I cannot go any bigger than 215's unless I have the rear guards rolled because of the lower ride hight.. If anyone has some insight into this please let me know .. :good:

car looks mint over those dragways... plan on buying myself a set in the future.... not a fan of the sticker kit
though...

surely you can fit wider tyres then 215s though? Seems odd...

Eb looks tough with those rims mate, but you can fit a 265 on a lowered falcon without rolling the guards with the correct offset.

I had 235s on my EB which was on king supers and never had an issue with scraping? Had 225s on my ED...never an issue there either.

Both cars are pretty sweet mate, something about that EB just makes it look tough, simple and tough. Have you thought of putting some clear front indicators in it? Might make the front look a bit nicer.

Both cars are pretty sweet, but love the EB mate.

I ran 255's on the EB Wagon, not sure if wagons have different clearance though.

yeh my xr8 is much lower and easily runs 255's
tyre shops are nuffys.

only way it would have issues is if your wheels are the wrong offset and sit out to far?

Hi Guys , Just thought Id upload some pics of the FG its had a face lift (sorta) and is undergoing some performance mods as I type this... Atomic Cams , Headers , Cat and Cold Air Induction and Flash Tune are the plan with some promising figures being guesstimated haha... Very keen to see how much I can get out of the N/A Six .. From what Ive been told they respond well to tuning...
