New Member EL XR6 Custom Boot Setup

Hey guys, my names Justin
I’m 17 years old (still on my L’s) turning 18 early next year

I bought my EL xr6 a few months ago after a long time of looking for one in good condition
The car was fairly stock when I got it and was well-looked after from the previous owner, with fairly low km’s for its age

I havn’t really had much of a chance to do anything to it yet, so far only installing a full pioneer sound system along with some minor interior modifications, clear side repeaters and EF tail-lights

Plans for the future are a full Tickford lip kit (to be installed within the coming weeks), 19” Dark Agents, lowered on super lows, sports exhaust system, tinted windows, sequential bonnet scoop and HID’s...... (engine mods can wait until i’m off my P’s) aha

Enjoy :)

yeah, can't wait to get stuck into her.....just need some time and money aha

i've got the dark agents sitting at home, it's just a matter of putting them on now, although everyone seems to have them nowadays!
might try swapping/selling them for other pre AU 19's but not sure which ones would look nice?

hey mate, where did you get the clear indicators? I've been looking at http://www.streetlens.com/ford.html but they seem to be shut down or out of order

Havn't been on here in a while so thought i'd put a bit of an update up...

Finally turned 18 and got my P's at the start of April, since then have spent a few weekends tweaking my car to how i like it

Had 19'' Dark Agents on it for a couple of weeks but wasn't really happy with how it looked so i sold them and bought new ones

19" Dark Agents

19" GT-P's

First Attempt At A Custom Boot Install (all carpeted now with black carpet, just need updated photo's)

Along with these mods i have had a full factory tickford bodykit sprayed and fitted including bigger spoiler, HID's installed, inner chrome door handles, 2.5" catback exhaust and sequential bonnet scoop painted (not sure if i want to fit it yet)
Will get more photo's soon

Let me know what you think :)

thanks

was toying around with the idea of two subs but thought one would be sufficient for now

just need a way to tightly stick the carpet to the wood, so i can take it off again if i ever do change my mind :)

i only drive the car locally besides the odd trip to melbourne for work, so i took the spare tyre out and it's sitting in the garage, if something happens (hopefully it doesn't) i'll be pretty close to home anyway

should hopefully be picking up SL springs next week sometime :)

a couple more photo's just to give an idea of the bodykit

In those pics it was 15% all-round, and 5% on the sunroof, lol

After getting defected, I got 35% on all side windows ...and very sneakily stuck with 15% on the rear, and 5% on the sunroof.

The 15% on the rear helps the sides look darker anyway, not to mention now having Black leather seats ...yep :drinks2:

Yeah, I'll probably go 30 or 35 all round, heard it's a bit of a pain to take off if you get a defect
Do you still have those leather seat covers? Wanna get rid off them? :p

Nah, keeping the seat covers for now mate...waited too long to just quit them so quickly.

Hey, decided to ditch the idea of the boot setup, made it hard with the gas tank as there was no room to put anything and I had no access to the spare wheel, just got a 12'' sub and box now

Havn't really done anything else to it besides lower it and tinted windows, wanting to keep it clean and fairly stock looking so the mods will end there

Looking for a bronco at the minute so majority of my time will be put into giving that a second life :)

Gosh you remind me of me :) same car, same color, got mine on my L's too, drove it all through my P's and now fully licensed she still brings me joy everyday I drive her. I remember dad coming car shopping with me, we were going to look at a few local yards then onto car city, really shop around properly and find a car suitable for learning.. 2nd local car yard, 20mins into car shopping I spotted her and refused to look anywhere else. Deposit was down within an hour of leaving home.
You should totally put in your painted scoops, mine are black and look awesome. Matches the door trims. Still haven't seen another EL XR with it done :) you can sorta see it in my avatar pic

Yeah, I always wanted a red one and after a good year of searching I finally found one with low km's and paint that wasn't faded haha
Your car looks really clean judging by your avatar, the bonnet scoops give it a nice personal touch but I personally prefer the stock look :)
I've got my sequential scoop and ghia side moulds all painted up, still deciding weather or not I want to install them :p

Only one thing to do... Install them, stand back and have a look :) they shouldn't be too much of a time consuming complex install.
