Hey Everyone - 97 NL Fairlane

Postby MOB5TR » December 6th, 2011, 12:20 pm

Hey Everyone, names Martin
I’m 19 , from Sydney, currently on my green P's ( get my fulls in a year and a half)

I'm the owner of this black 97 NL fairlane now, which was originaly owned by my dad since 2002 when he bought it, while my dad owned it he only drove it once or twice a week, cause my dad owns a 91 fairlane aswell, so instead of it sitting there in the driveway dad gave it to me when i got my l's and i've owned it ever since, and tend to aslong as it lasts( which i think it will cause its got just about 119,000kms now).

Since the time i've owned it, i've added some upgrades, which include: thick white walls, pioneer 8" sub and speakers in the rear parcel shelf , axs seatcovers and custom stickers on the windows. Also its got the factory upgrades which include full leather interior, 6 disc CD stacker and alot of chrome bits.

Future upgrades include: 18" or 19" inch wheels, window tints, lowered suspension, respray in factory black pearl with a touch of more pearl and...........Maybe a turbo upgrade in the future somewhere.

Let me know what you think guys :)

Looks the good mate, I always wanted a black NL. But never thought I'd be able to keep it clean.

I would say that it is blue...not black. Unless it has been resprayed. There were no EF/EL, NF/NL, DF/DL or XH vehicles released from Ford in black, finished in ED and came back in AU. And you can see the blue in the rear shot.

Sweet looking LWB mate, looks really sweet.

There were black NLs. Heres one: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=4423&start=320

I've seen a black NF Sportsman somewhere too.

Looks like Navy Blue though this one.

Nice car mate. We need some decent photos though. All class on the factory wheels.

nothin suss - Thanks mate, yeah it is a hassle to keep clean, all i can say is you need to take your time, and the end result will comeout great. It'll never be over the top it will always stay classy, everything in the future will be done simple but effective. :)

DJV8T5 - Colour isn't blue, it's painted in the original Black Pearl colour from the factory mate, never been re-sprayed.
And Thanks mate

SLO247 - Thanks man, nah its not Navy Blue, its a dark Black Pearl in colour and will be posting up somemore pics soon.

NL_CONCORDE - Thanks mate :) Love your Fairlane!

Dumpsta - Thanks champ, will have to see what happens, maybe oneday.

YBHVE4 - Thanks dude , yeah it sits alright, but wanna go lower eventually.

Looks good! I'd leave the wheels for now, will attract less cop attention. Altho cops seem to like white walls these days

Nice Fairlane mate - looks clean and straight! On 15's must be a very comfortable ride - awesome cruiser.

Incorrect - there were a handful of black LWB models in factory black (NL / DL) - there are a few floating around the traps these days...something different :)

YBHVE4 – The springs are 8” on the front, but on the rear its still got the factory airbags on, which hardly adjust themselves anymore.

felixts – All good mate :) and thanks

ED Barbie – Why thankyou :) yeah I’m planning on leaving them on for now, but I will be slamming it all round when funds permit.

Dcstraight – Thanks mate, yeah I try to keep it looking imac :D it’s a realy smooth ride, basically depends on the road conditions.

Hey mate, awesome NL you have there! Definitely keep the NL wheels, look mint with the thick whitewalls (I planned on doing that but ended up with the pinstripe). First step I would say is lower it a tad, and some nice dark tint :good:

Mint looking ride Martin! I've got the same year fairlane in dark blue but a v8. Personally i love the way you have it looking atm, looks classy and not over the top. When go to lower it, try SS'L springs in rear and SL's in front and shortened shockers all round, cops don't bother me and makes it ride alot smoother. Anyways best of luck with it bud look forward to seeing future plans :)
