Hi everyone, my name's Tas and this is my Fairlane:

This one was taken at the recent Seymour AFD (my 'lane was filthy!). We met up with a couple of guys from these here forums who turned out to be my neighbours! They said we should park our cars with theirs - that's my mate Sparksy's EB.

God damn, I don't know why, but I love this thing!! I so want to buy a Ford of this era and do a retro tech. How does it go with the 302 and the manual? Speaking of which, why the Toyota box?

I'm glad you like it mate! Clevo's old and worn out with no power but has a flat torque curve so she cruises beautifully. I love manuals, they're the only way to drive, and no-one expects a Fairlane with a cog-swapper. The reason I've got a CRAP Toyota box is 'cause the XD I stripped to build this had it already. I'f you read my build thread you'll get the whole story.

There is just something about the combo of the shape, two-tone paint and wheels. The whole thing just combines so nicely! I only asked about the 302 as I was a little worried the big old 'Lane would be too heavy for it. Which is why I'd go an XE Fairmont if I were to ever do a retro. Yours does look like an epic cruise machine though, would just eat up the highway! Totally agree about the manual too, only way to go, even in a luxo barge like this! Great work! :good:

Needs some twin fours out the bonnet...

She looks period perfect, right down to the white lettering.

I was at Seymour and don't remember it, although don't trust my eyes lol.

Good to see you signed up, hopefully you'll be at Geelong AFD too! ;)
