hey all, my name is callum,
im a 4th year mechanic, working at Nissan.
im from melbourne and still on red P's

i bought my ba xr6 5 speed about 6 months ago after stacking my 3lt vl. and since then have fallen in love with the xr
i bought the xr stock, and since then i have lowered many times. at the moment i have ssl in the front and i think compressed sl in the rear which are much lower than the ssl i had. i have a 2 1/2 cat back exhaust, i took the spoiler of to give it a cleaner look, and have also put venetians in.

next for the xr im hoping to put a new diff in, with lsd centre with either 3:9's or 4:11's, still undecided, then i plan to put a rip shifter in and also a tune to get it running good. and then after that plan to put new wheels, get the spoiler holes on the boot smoothed over and put a lip spoiler.

I wouldn't go ripshifter. They break pretty easy. Go an MGW. Sick reviews from the Mustang boys over in the U.S and Rollin won't shut up about em either

what are your thoughts on diff gears? 4:11's too tall?

Most people with 5 speeds go 3.7's or 3.9's.

4.11's would be ok if it was auto,

yeahhh that was when i got them just done, its got a thick white and thin blue walls

I reckon it looks better without walls,
But doesn't look terrible with them

yeah, the reason i got them was because the 17"s look too small on the car and got the walls to try and make them look bigger.

yeah i planing to chuck a turbo motor in, or maybe if i have the money before then buy the turbo motor and start doing mods to it for when im off my P's

yeah sounds like a plan must suck living in the eastern states on your p's, they're really strict on what cars you drive. would drive me crazy

yeah man it is but surprisingly ive only been pulled up twice because of my car and only been given warnings lol. like ive had cops pull right up behind me over take me to pull over another p plater in a commodore eventho mine is lower and louder lol.

sounds like you been lucky then, haven't been pulled up in EVLMONT yet should be interesting if i do its fairly quiet at idle so nothing suss

3.7's are pointless. 3.9's for manual, 4.11 for auto.
