hello i have been on here a little while with a hot chilli red xh ute, i get my green ps in a couple weeks so i thought i might get my self a newer car, so after looking at some ba xr6s and alot of them having rust in common places and some bf xr6s and a few early fgs, it turns out the banks dont like lending a first year apprentice too much money so i started looking at some EL xr6s and found myself a Fairmont Ghia thats had the full tickford treatment..

I am the fourth owner and the fella i bought it off has known the car since new, its got all the tickford goodies, premium sound with 6 stacker and factory sub. leather interior thats in pretty good condition apart from the drivers seat base needs new leather as it is cracked, HM headers and sports exhaust, lowered on pedders springs and shocks and rolling on some chrome 17" ANZ wheels.. It needs only a few things done before rego, the headlights are faded but it came with a mint set in the boot, and little power steering oil leak.. any way heres a few pics..

plan are to get it on the road as soon as i can, put a full bodykit on, maybe do something different with the wheels like a black centre and polished lip??, and put my stereo gear into it out of my ute..

Getting there, i had it in for a roady and got knocked for, too low, leaks in exhaust, a power steering leak which couldnt be found but turned out to be a faulty cap on the pump, exhaust hangers and handbrake needs adjusting.. ive got it all fixed so fingers crossed will be on the road tomorrow arvo.. then its off to get the auto serviced, LSD serviced and tightened and a wheel alignment .

on another note when i was replacing the bulb for auto surround i found a time slip from willowbank in 2002.. it did a 13sec pass at 120km/h running on shell premium because i fund a servo receipt there aswell for 2 hours before the run.. ive got myself some pioneer gear to replace the speakers as they have gone hard and just making some vibrating cardboard sounds..haha

Yer the kits really set off and define the shape of the rest opf the car.. hopefully will be picking up a kit in the next month or so...

I think it just looks unfinished without the kit, i am hoping to have a kit fairly soon and maybe a set of fpv twists to finish it off..

the chrome strips are peeling and pretty well stuffed so i was thinking about maybe some carbon fibre tape as the chrome doesnt stand out on the colour, but not sure how it would turn out. ive got my pioneer system installed and it sounds awesome, ive got 350w 4ways in the front and 400w 3ways in the rear and a 12" sub.. i did have the factory sub hooked up aswell but it must be a bit old and i blew it to pieces, so a pioneer replacement is on the list..

You can get some chrome pin tape , i know it doesn't stand out, but its classy...

Im not sure if CF would work, but no harm in trying.

Yer the chrome does look a lot classier, i got bored the other day and put some black insulation tape on the front strips and it looked alright.. it broke it up, but it looked pretty cheap black..
