ok guys, havnt been able to get much done lately because of the weather and being busy..

I managed to get the plastic trim around the sunroof painted last weekend as it was looking a bit faded.. this is how it looked before

Image

first thing was to mask up around the sunroof, then i gave the trim a rub with some 600 grit, then a clean with prep wash..

Image

then i sprayed it with some moto spray satin black, i gave it around 7 coats as it was soaking up the paint.. i opened the sunroof twice to make sure it wouldnt stick from the paint, and yeah all good..

Image

and this is how it looks now.. ive saved up some money so i will order my personalized plates this week.. thanks for looking

Didn't realise you're in Traralgon mate, I recall seeing the black ED with the typhoons, was super neat! I drive through Traralgon every day.

thanks for looking..

Hi Mate

Lovely car you had  Just wondering if you still remember what paint you used to do the ED boot garnish in silver? as I currently have an EB garnish on my ED and I would like to add the silver bit to it :P You wouldn't possibly remember what kind of paint it was would you?

Cheers :)

That is GORGEOUS!

Look at your car. Now back to mine. Now back to yours. Now back to mine. Sadly, yours isn't mine. But if you stopped buying dodgy cars and bought an ED, yours could be like mine. Look down. Back up. Where are you? ...You're on BoostedFalcon, reading the signature your signature could be like! Anything is possible when your car looks like my car... I'm on a computer.

Thanks guys, im very happy with it and its in good hands :-) I have the full history of the car which is good to have. I also wrote a letter to ford Australia and i have received a build sheet for the car to confirm its history and i also bought a EB Fairmont ghia brochure on ebay, i thought that would be nice to have.. The brochure also came with the colour range chart and also the specifications / options chart.

maybe the module in the engine bay having vacuum issues? Would be one of the possibilities. Bit of a hard one with them

Sounds like what my EB was doing. Have a look under the dash, some falcons had cruise added after the loom was made, mine was factory ford cruise installed with scotch clips
PLayed around with the wires and it came good. Also check your brake switch.

The fault with mine was in the bunch of wires under the steering column.

Thanks for the replies guys. Ill have a look at it this weekend. Hey apoc what do you mean by brake switch ? Also isn't the cruise control unit mounted under the centre console storage bin ? I can hear something clicking when i press the cruise control button on an off

You may have an issue with the steering wheel buttons or the contacts. Pull them out give the contacts a clean and maybe even pull the steering wheel and clean those as well.

The old EA-ED type has 3 parts, the electrics under the centre console, the vacuum canister in the passenger side of the engine bay (behind washer bottle I think?) and the vacuum unit which controls the throttle, opposite the other bit on the drivers side of the engine bay. From memory anyway, been a while.

Theres a brake switch in the pedal to turn the cruise off, if its playing up it could be causing issues
