My name is chris, I'm 23 years of age and I'm the proud new owner of a dirty old el fairmont. I plan to restore this car and modify it tastefully using the great people here as my guide. Here are a couple pictures of the car as it arrived at my house yesterday. I have a donor ef futura that I am able to swap most the rear end to replace the damaged panels. Also pictured is a photo of my xh falcon daily. Take it easy on the criticisms as its an acquired taste. :-P

Looks great except for the damage which could cost you a bit to fix.

Good luck mate and welcome to the forum

Tbh you'd be better off doing a full swap to your other car. Then painting the parts that need it. Would be shit loads cheaper and easier then cutting rear panels

Cheers

Yeah i have a replacement rear bumper bar, the metal panel just above it aswell as a boot. I'm still undecided if i should just get the quarter smoothed off or swap all the gear to the futura. But i didn't want the hassle of the motor, tranny swap plus all the power windows ect. wanted the fairmont for the luxury.

Welcome mate. Sounds like you've got the right idea, even if you haven't decided yet.

Haven't seen any country/truck-spec utes on here yet haha.

Haha luckily I didn't join this site for my ute then. :p I plan on posting updates in the build thread as i plan on making this car a 3 year minimum project. rebuild the motor and box. complete respray in ford blue(not sure which one). xr front conversion plus xr skirts and rear. Also thinking of going towards a turbo setup(Very small setup. 300whp). But ill have to do some reading through previous builds to get a fair idea. :)
